I see through your statements of sentimentality, you screaming bear you. You won't fool me with your "twu wuuuv" proclamations.  :P

My cuddly pretense is only so I can lure you to a river where my other bear friends are waiting to maul you so you drink all your potions and have to return to camp.

Well yeah, but there's a big difference between "Not always being able to have sex" and "Never having sex nor any physical attraction to your partner". Of course not everyone's a sex hound who wants it constantly, but that's not what I meant. I was referring to above points stating that a relationship can work without any physical attraction and/or sexual intimacy ever, which I don't really believe.

Well, I agree I have a lot of physical attraction to said partner, but at the same time I would love him even if he was burnt up, couldn't move, etc.  I really found something extraordinary with him.

It's indescribable because I never felt that way before and probably won't again.  In fact, I would double eyeroll and cough when people talked about this stuff before because I thought it was just people making crap up.

Sex is awesome, but we place way too much emphasis on it, to our detriment, I think.

Why does sexuality have to be pigeon holed at all??? Attraction is attraction and to me, labelling every type of attraction is just totally wrong and unhelpful.

I know people will vehemently disagree and that's fine but I just think once we start labelling every type of attraction/sexuality etc it starts to get pointless.

Sexuality isn't always a straight line or choice, it can vary over time or with different people we meet. To try and convey all of those in game would get overly complex IMO.

(to Honourable Bigot) You can run as fast as you'd like, it just means you are less likely to see the trap I laid!

I admit that I have also had sexual relationships where I have not been attracted to my partner. In all relationships you must make compromises. I don't see how sex is any different.

No offense, but in that case it doesn't sound like you're the best one to give advice on relationships.

Why not?  If you're married to someone, for example, and they get fat or bald--do you stop having sex?  Sex is about more than primary attraction, sometimes it's about conveying love.

I would NEVER say "making love" before because I always thought that was bullshit.  I was like, "It's sex."  But now that I am in a cuddly happy place I see that it is conveying love (sometimes).

No, I mean in Vanth's case. They've stated several times now they've been in relationships where they did not like and/or find the other person attractive, either physically or emotionally.

I just thought of something, Hana. Would you consider Kaidan's m/m romance to be one that could be interpreted as demisexual? As in mShep and/or Kaidan don't begin to feel sexual attraction towards each other until they developed a strong emotional bond throughout the three games? Using that lens could be a way to explain why Kaidan was not an original love interest for Shep. Obviously it would be a head canon but it could be one way to think of that relationship.

Would that make Kaidan, a bisexual, h.o.m.o-demi-romantic? I think that covers everything right?

And wow, the filter is tough.

At a certain point I hope we'll all just be people.  This is why I don't like labels.  They really only divide people based on characteristics that most of us can't help anyway.

If you have to label, can't it be "gamer"?

No. Because I'm gay and therefore am OBLIGATED to ram my agenda down everyone's throats as mercilessly as possible before shoving it in their face, and all over the place when I'm done. Therefore my title is:

cisgendered homohypersexual monoamorous androphilic nongyno ethnominority mascoprivileged consolebased gaymer, thank you very much.

You bigoted gyno-ursosapien. Check your privilege.

Ha! Right? I was actually thinking more of Shep because Kaidan shows some strong sexual attraction to asari ladies.

I think SHepard was just too tongue tied by Kaidan's awesome to say anything. Or it could be that until he met a man who was comfortable with people knowing, and in fact had a bromance with a super meathead, Shepard couldn't muster up the courage to express how he felt. *longing eyes at Cortez*

Or he was just late in getting his letter. (That's how boo and I refer to people who come out later in life; they just received their letter inviting them to the agenda).

Firstly, I am not giving relationship advice. Secondly, having a realistic view of relationships is a helpful perspective, not a hindrance.

No. As you pointed out, Kaidan shows primary sexual attraction towards the asari dancers in Afterlife. And Shepard has shown themselves to not really fit the definition whenever the player pursues a romance.

Why not mShep if he's with Kaidan, though? That one takes him like 3 years and some serious emotional connection before he shows attraction.

Well, one reason is Shepard's reactions go against this:

6. Flirting doesn’t make sense to you.

Maybe it goes right over your head, or it makes you uncomfortable. The idea of flirting seems pointless—why do that when you can have a proper, deep conversation and get to the know the person instead? Maybe when someone gets flirty, you just have no idea how to respond and would prefer to run in the other direction. You feel frustrated that you can’t just talk to someone normally—why do they have to hit on you? Your friends point out that people were flirting with you or checking out out later, or you realize only belatedly. You tend to avoid situations, like parties or clubs, where you can expect lots of flirting, and if you do, you’re either on high alert or happily oblivious.

Shepard doesn't experience any obliviousness or discomfort from Kaidan's flirts and does some flirting himself, thus going against an aspect of demisexuality.

Hanako,

if you're straight or gay you kinda have to find your same-orientation partner, which is kinda of why Bioware is inclusive in the LIs because it's not enough that your character is gay/straight.

For "demisexual" you can be the demisexual one and in the case of Inquisition the slow build with Solas would meet this criteria.because he does not even engage you romantically until way later and sexually

Spoiler
.

Why doesn't that one count?

Solas sounds very lustful when he mentions sex at Winter Palace. I also kinda suspect he sees sex as weapon.

Everyone pretty much became a sexhound in Inquisition, mainly the bisexuals. I think they pretty much all see it as some form of weapon.
