Well actually I was saying that everything that people like or dislike must have a genetic or biological base to it, preferences for things are formed physically and naturally. I wasn't saying therefore "everyone likes the same things."

And you are wrong.

Anyway, remember how earlier you wondered if I thought this should be dropped. I'm thinking that now.

Yes you are. Most of the people on the planet prefer to be religious, despite it having absolutely no connection to genetics or biology and isn't formed by physical or natural means whatsoever. It is not hardwired into them, but is a choice and thus ab preference. That proves your assertion is incorrect.

Now, back to discussing demisexuality.

I know you don't want to keep talking about it but honestly I kind of this sort of interesting, because churches offer a kind of physical experience, cathedrals, music, images of the Virgin Mary of chastity or symbols of religious importance, the people that one meets in the same situation, feats, all of it has a kind of physical connection on some level.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I am literally never wrong about things like this once I've kind of made up my mind, so it will be up to the universe to sort of out the consequences of this fact.

Thank you for admitting you are not going to change your mind. Means I don't have to waste my time trying to explain things to you anymore since I now know it is a fruitless exercise.

And in the future, since I've noticed you've been doing this lately, don't act like you are an authority on the subject in this thread. It is not helpful.

Just a quick aside. I find this helpful when discussions go the way they have. Sometimes, you just have to accept and let it go.

(Please excuse the patronizing title of the page. I didn't make it. The functional part starts about halfway down the page.)

Projecting, but I definitely think it would be better to just start my own thread or something, this is kind of an obvious issue at the center that's not going to go away (kind of like the ones in the gay KISA thread) and if people don't want to make progress on it the thread will just start going in circles.

Or you could be misunderstanding (whether unintentional or intentional) the points people are making in both threads.

I think you should create your own thread about these issues so that you can get to the bottom of whatever it is that you are struggling with in these threads.

Probably... it kind of felt like people would have an open mind to sort of listen to some ideas here though...

I think it would be better as well. You can explain your points in better detail since you are governing the discussion.

I'm curious what issue you think this thread has that we aren't facing is, though. Can you explain please?

I'm surprised to find that you think that people here are close-minded about some of these concepts since I think that the two threads that I have participated in with you are some of the more 'open-minded' threads in respect to listening to other viewpoints.

If you ended up creating a thread, I'd certainly participate in discussions around the issues that you perceive.

Are people still trying to explain logic to Kefka112?

I just think we're dancing around this idea that people have natural sexual impulses of a certain kind and that society is coercing them into doing something else. That seems to me to be the origin behind this whole discussion.

I'm not surprised you are surprised... but it's just this feeling that something is really missing here.

There's no struggle on my part, I know what I see, I'm just trying to see what other people see. I could share all my cards about sexuality, demisexuality, sex, LGBT, and a dozen of other things but if people get salty partway and before getting to the weightier stuff obviously there's no point in that.

Are you willing to consider that maybe the reason people get frustrated is because you are misunderstanding them?

I think I understand it well enough based on your recent comments here and in those horrible outfit discussions from before. You think human nature is sexual and thus demisexuality or asexuality are just a construct of an aggressively puritanical society. That's the only reason I can see that you'd keep hammering on about biology and natural sexual impulses in this thread, whether you have the courage to say it so bluntly or not.

You should understand that people are able to understand your ideas just fine and still think they're stupid. If I have the right of it here, I'd be inclined to agree. Or at least, I certainly doubt you've actually done any credible research to back that claim, but rather it's just something you "know" about human nature because you're ****** Plato over here.

And just because something is clear to you doesn't mean it's actually correct. You shouldn't flatter yourself in thinking your ideas are just too deep for others to understand. Either your ideas are **** or your communication is, choose one.

Yeah, I have to agree with this. I think that this is ultimately the genesis of this entire conversation. Although I'm sure that this too will be spun in his head as yet another example of how we are (all) just too simple to understand his brilliant and complex mind. There doesn't seem to be the capability for self-reflection at all.

Correct, you never took me seriously to begin with, so why are you wasting your time here? That is your loss but others such as Hanako asked a question (which I did not expect but did indulge) and I gave an answer, if you have no purpose one way or another you shouldn't be here.

Thus reported for trolling (along with Malthier) again.

Ares has purpose

He provides essential comic from self important nonsense like yours. People don't have trouble understanding your theories and philosophy, beyond deciphering it through your rambling and convoluted delivery. Your pretense of reasonable discourse doesn't soften the effect of your arrogance, it just makes it seem more sly and passive aggressive

I've seen you use more fallacies to support your reasoning than I've seen you use real logic

So, about the thread topic...

Does anyone have anything like a...class preference for a companion who fits Hanako's parameters?

The orientation of this thread is about a group of people who has little to no representation in media (in this case video games, but really across all of media) wanting to have a character that they can identify with. The preference of this thread is about Demisexuality. A similar conversation could be had about a number of different groups that are criminally under-represented.

Basically, preference is a choice while orientation is not.

For example, both Sera and Zevran have expressed sexual interest towards women over men.

Sera does so because of orientation, she is hardwired to be sexually attracted to women and not sexually attracted to men.

Zevran does so because of preference, he is hardwired to be sexually attracted to both but likes the company of women more.

I know I liked this post, but I want to specifically call this out as being a particularly great example of preference vs. orientation.

Not really. They could be Mage, Rogue, Warrior, or even a Noncombatant.
