In Act 1 or 2, I had Merill accompany me in the fade to convince a half-dalish human that he can control his magic (he has the ability to control dreams without lyrium). A Pride demon offered Merill a deal and she accepted. Despite this, Hawke forgave her and ultimately had a complete romance with her.

 

Act 3 was dark and peculiar and my attention was diverted during what may have been a crucial scene. Merill needed one more tool to finish restoring the eluthian mirror. i agreed to accompany her but the old keeper said this was a trick by a pride demon all along to--apparently--possess Merill and so she opted for the possession instead. During the battle with the pride demon, he/she says something to Merill but I couldn't hear what and the scene passed too quickly. In the end, Merill and Hawke were forced to kill her entire clan when they found out what Merill had done (the demon tried to pretend that he/she was defeated but Hawke saw through the ruse). 

 

What did this pride demon say to Merill during that brief mid-fight scene, and what does it mean?

If you mean that tiny cut scene before the pride demon reverts to the keepers form, it's not a taunt to Merill. It's a taunt to Hawk based on the personality type you gave him/her. In my case I made his a humorous/charming personality. The taunt I got was "How many glib words have dribbled from your lips, all testaments to your cleverness? Everyone has feed me..." Not sure what that means, but that was the line.

Ah thanks. I tried to have hawke reply depending on context, but most replies were jokes and humour.

The spirits summoned by the demon all taunt Merrill.

• Hunter Radha: "Traitor! May the Dread Wolf hunt you for the rest of your days!"
• Pol: "I was trying to rebuild my life! Why did you have to come back and destroy it?"
• Hunter Harsal: "We're cursed. The whole clan. And you brought this upon us."
• Hunter Chandan: "You couldn't let go of the past, could you? Now look at what you've done!"
• Tamlen: "Curiosity... is a dangerous thing, Merrill. It will never let you rest. Never."
• Elven Mother: "What have you done? What have you brought upon our clan, you monster?"
• Keeper Marethari: "Da'len, turn back. Everything you touch turns to ash."
• Elven Elder: "You are a wound poisoning this clan!"
