pretty neutral, surface dwarves are usually warriors, merchants or traders. Nothing controversial, and they've never had conflicts with humans.
If there's any bigotry at all, I'd expect it to come from religious institutions, as opposed to demographics of the common folk (Since Dwarves are the one race "that is not a creation of the maker"). I'm pretty sure that's the Chantry's stance at least, although it would take me a while to confirm it and rediscover the source, so grain of salt for the time being.
From what I've gathered dwarves are pretty respected if they are not criminals, etc on the surface. I imagine dwarven inquisitors won't have a lot of trouble getting support.
They could have difficulty with other dwarves.
I'm assuming they will be treated like outsiders, but respected. I'm hoping we find a hidden dwarf thaig or something though, I love Dwarven lore in Dragon Age, a lot.
The video that showed what it looked like when entering val royoux, an orlesians lady screams when she sees the dwarf inquisitor.

Ya sure but screaming? that makes little sense, maybe a quanri would get that reaction, I really hope that is not default for anyone that is not human. Elves make even less sense.

I'm thinking it might be for every inquisitor. It's not every day you meet the Herald of Andraste (and/or because of shabby clothing in such a high class place), and Orlesians are known for being dramatic
