[NWN-Ming-Ming]

I realize it's way too late for something like this to be addressed in the release, but maybe we can get an easter egg or something noted for a DLC release?

 

I always felt godawful about being unable to help Amethyne, in DAO.  For those who can't remember the name, she's the daughter of Iona, the elven handmaiden you can possibly befriend or seduce in the Human Noble Origin of DAO.  You eventually encounter Amethyne in a non-scripted dialogue in the Elven Alienage, where she wonders aloud where her mother is and when she will come for her.  She seems to be about eleven or so by the looks of her toon in DAO, and if the seven-plus years that have elapsed since the events of DAO and DA2 have occured, she'd be of adventuring age and grown-up by now. 

 

Has anyone in Bioware ever discussed the eventual fate of Amethyne or considered maybe giving her a cameo role or some happy-ending story closure in DAI?

Well, she is mentioned only by Iona if you befriend her in the Human Noble Origin, before Iona is brutally killed. 

 

She appears in the Elven Alienage, but unless you know her name and why she's there, she might just appear to the casual observer as some named elven NPC with no discernable reason for appearing.

 

She talks aloud at intervals or when you click on her, and explains she's waiting for her mother to come for her, but if you're a Human Noble you know that her mother is now dead and can never bring her away from the Alienage, and it's heartbreaking.  I couldn't even initiate a dialogue menu with her to give her some money or help take her somewhere safe, all I can do is hear Amethyne talk hopefully about reuniting with her mother again.

 

I always wished I could have done something for her as the Warden Commander, and then after DA2 leaped forward in time, I thought it would have been nice to maybe bump into Amethyne again, maybe see if she ended up alright after all.

That is so sad. It's no wonder I didn't know about her. Never did a human playthrough. Something tells me they just kinda forgot about her. Sucks cause now I wanna know what happened too!

Oh, I remember her.  Wow, that's pretty obscure.  I hate to say it, but we're more likely to see Shianni from the Denerium Alienage before we'd see Iona's child.  Shianni was a NPC that all players could interact with help and/or blow off.  Plus, by the end of the game, she was getting groomed to become the new Elder for the Alienage.  Given that it's been about 11 years since then, she could be Elder of the Denerium Alienage by now.

 

Sorry OP, but I think due to the obscurity of the NPC, we probably won't see her again.  I'd be happy to be wrong though.

I think that picture is of Shianni, I know for sure it isn't Amethyne.  Wonder why it came up in a search though?

Yea, I know she's probably unlikely to get any love.  But I wanted to ask anyhow, and you never know.  I too would be happy to be proven wrong!

I would love to get a chance to go to Highever, once of these days.  Just to chat with NPCs, and maybe find out what happened after Fergus returned.

I wished i could help her, too! Unfortunately, I think she contracts the plague during the Unrest in the Alienage quest (she's seen sitting behind a building coughing). Of course, she might have survived it, but we don't know.

If the darkspawn didn't get her during the Battle of Denerim, I'm sure Valendrian and/or Shianni would've scooped her up eventually.

IKR!!!  My feelings exactly!  I'm the goddamn Hero of Ferelden!  I'm the future queen, for gosh's sake!  I have archdemons for breakfast!  I carry more gold than the treasury contains! 

 

I wanted to hug that little girl, tell her it would all be okay, and that I would take care of her from now on.

I hope there's something that shows her doing well. When I saw her I was like yep I'm adopting her and she'll be the kid me and Anora are going to raise, but instead it was just a giant nope.
