Actions can describe a lot about a character, usually on how they express themselves. I enjoyed what I saw in the newest trailer giving little insight into the how you handle matters from your throne. It shows you have power and influence in your own "court" I had this impression from the human inquisitor from the trailer on how he was expressing himself nearly coming across as arrogant, which I plan to use as a trait for my human inquisitor.

And again it comes back to how you choose to do things, especially on the war table consulting your advisors on where to go and what method you will use. My Inquisitor will be forceful and threatening if he cannot get what he needs/wants. He will flaunt his noble status about above those he deems "lesser" and a waste of time. My Inquisitor will dress in a flamboyaunt state wearing ceremonial-like armour with bright colours and what not. Simply to say, how will you express your inquisitor?

I'll use a combination of the three.  Wherever it makes the most sense.

This.

Also I doubt you'll be able to use only one since you might not unlock it for that particulat mission. Plus this missions take time to resolve, time during which you are unable to use that advisor's emissarys for other missions. Waiting for them to return from each assignment, it's just a waste of time.

It will all depends on situation. It will politic so sometimes diplomacy is a good choice, and sometimes to know someone's little dirty secrets it's better. Also sending troops is the way You can win with someone who value brute force. So I will for sure use all three.

Diplomacy with force and espionage being last resort. The world would be a better place if people were allies, no matter the deals they make with each other to achieve so.

Espionage for black mail, Diplomacy for face value and trade, brute force as a last resort. However, with good black mail, I would hope that my target knows what he or she might lose in the process of declaring war.

I think for my first PC I may lean toward diplomacy, but I'm sure in some cases that won't be an option.  Force would be a second choice.  Secrecy?  Well only if there is no other option.

Course every character I play will be different, and I tend to play these games multiple times.

  • First, Secrecy. Intelligence gathering and manipulation are the first step to any action, and it is obviously the main craft of Inquisition. Always scout the place in advance and create webs of spies. It is not necessary to employ them for assassination. Focus on Low cost, High reward. Boring but practical things usually produce the best results.
  • The second step, Diplomacy. Manipulation. A city or an army should always be given the choice to surrender honourably. This allows you to keep your forces intact and acquire things at minimal cost. Never kill messengers. Lines of communication should always remain open.  Severely punish anyone who dares to touch an ambassador. Love betrayal, hate the traitor. Kingslayers traitors should be executed in the most horrible ways imaginable, even the ones who helped you. (you never know when they will back-stab you again).
  • Finally, Force Exterminatus. If a city or an army refuses to surrender, have no mercy. They are wasting supplies that could be employed elsewhere. Feel free to loot the city. Promise them all the gold of the city and your men will love you for it. If they dare to resist for too long, burn it to the ground, enslave all woman and children and crucify all male adults in the city. Use terror to reinforce the two first ones so you never reach that step.

I'd prefer to get things done diplomatically. If that doesn't work, somebody's going to get stabbed in the back. If that doesn't work, a whole lot of people will be stabbed in the front.

Intelligence, or secrecy if you prefer, above all. One should never make a move without knowing the pieces. Then the other two based off the information received.

I'd like to use diplomacy most, but since I'll probably want to have 3 missions running simultaneously it will be a matter of juggling which person gives me the shortest mission completion time per task.

Well i tend to play games like this with a Strong, yet Gentle Iron fist, ill stick to my decisions until they require changing due to an unforseen circumstance. The Sword may be the quickest option following the logic: Smart Thinks, Stupid gets sh*t done. But some times you need to actually sit back and treat circumstances with a gentle hand...Like petting a nervous kitten...i see the Mages and Elves as Nervous kittens. so ill probably stick to Force and Diplomacy unless i need some B**tch assassinated.

Being on espionage in general, especially stealth games and all its working, it's safe to say that I might enjoy using "secrecy" through Leliana a lot.

Kara Trevelyan:  Will mostly use Secrecy, especially when dealing with nobles and the the betters of society to try and avoid their notice.

Diplomacy: When it comes to the renegades and rebels of Thedas, the Dalish, the Apostate mages, etc.

Forces, when either do not work and in direct conflict and when it looks like that will be impossible to avoid.

Ben Trevelyan:  Diplomacy:  He will want to make friends with anyone and convince people to join the Inquisition through peaceful means and that they can be a force for good.

Espionage: To gather intelligence to make carefully considered measures.

Forces:  Only as a last resort.

Athena Adarr:

Forces:  The Inquistion, though she might be sweet and nice, will broker no rivals.

Diplomacy: However once the battle ends she will make peace where she can.

Espionage: Does not like to sneak around, prefers a straight fight.

Gustav Trevelyan.

Mix of all three.

My qunari inquisitors will probably have to use either force, or secrecy. Diplomacy, I think, won't be too effective when people come face-to-face with a qunari.

My elves will employ secrecy.

My humans Diplomacy.

My dwarves... a mix of diplomacy and force.
