Top 3

1) Iron Bull: Attractive. Bisexual. No mustache. Sure, he's fantasy KGB, but he won't be by the time I'm through with him! Unless he is, of course.

2) Cole: I dunno, he seems fun! That hat is either Too Much or Just Enough, though.

3) Vivienne: Her trailer won me over. I don't feel that strongly about any of the characters, (because I haven't played the game) so that's enough, at this point.

Bottom 3

1) Blackwall: Seems a little dull (not that we have a ton of informaiton about him/anyone). A Warden recruiter, just like Duncan! I didn't love Duncan, the Wardens, or their recruitment practices tbqh.

2) Solas: His staff clips into his torso! Minor pet peeve, but more than enough to get him into the bottom 3. I hope none of the other mages have this problem!

3) Cassandra: Did not make a great impression on me in Dragon Age 2. She seems a bit more likable this time around, but I'm committed to filling this thing out.

Sera, Iron Bull and Dorian.

Honestly, I don't feel the best vibes from Cole.

But I won't judge him until I get to know him better ;;

Like:

Cole; He seems to be the companion with the purest intentions; reminds me of how pure Justice was before the DA2 timeline. I genuinely want to see how he grows during the course of the story.

Varric. He's been my bro since DA2; the one member who never left my party. The fact I get go on adventures and see how much has changed over the years makes me look all the more forward to starting my game (though I have to wonder how he'll react to my Qunari Inquisitor).

Cassandra; mainly curious about this woman who comes from a family of dragon slayers, stabs books, and holds swords at people's throat when expecting answers. But she seems honorable enough and has good intentions, even though she is a bit temperamental...something tell me I'm going to have a little fun being snarky with her for a while.

Dislike (I'm using dislike VERY loosely: there's no telling how these characters will grow).

Sera; her desire to look out for the pheasants and the way she clearly will do her own thing is admirable, but her voice and the few lines I've heard her speak make her come off as immature and a little bratty, which are characters I intend to get agitated with until they mature. Doesn't help that she apparently calls Cole 'It' rather than his name (that's just insulting).

Vivienne; it's more that I'm a bit suspicious of her than anything else. Aside from Leliana, some other characters that I've seen in the DA universe that came from Orlais so far have always had some form of ulterior motive when interacting with either my Warden or Hawke. Or their pompous attitudes just really get on my nerves,

Iron Bull; same case as Vivienne. I'm always careful when I invite spies to my party and I am even more suspicious about what exactly they want to know about my Inquisitor and the inquisition (he's apparently going to be open about his spy job, but I'm still going to be careful around him...)

Though if I had to say someone I genuinely know I will dislike a bit, it's Cullen; he just rubbed me the wrong way in DA2 on a number of occasions(though I do understand why he became that way and feel a bit of sympathy toward him). But he's an advisor, not a companion XD.

Favorites: Dorian, Vivienne, Bull, Cassandra, and Josephine.

Least favorite: Cullen and Leliana. If I'm not allowed to cop out by not naming a companion, I guess I'll have to go with Solas. It's not that I dislike him, it's just that he's the only one not to make much of an impression on me. Although, I love his voice actor to bits, so he'll probably grow on me when I actually get to hear him say more than a few sentences.

Second is definitely Sera, because her personality is just amazing, and she's Legolas with boobs. Can't go wrong with that.

Wut. Are we thinking of the same Legolas here? I mean, yeah, they're both blonde elves who use bows but that's where the similarities run into a brick wall.

As for my picks:

Favourites (in no particular order because it's hard enough to choose three of them. Also Varric doesn't count because I've loved him forever so he's out of the running)

1) Solas: Magical dreamer Fade nerd historian. It's like he was made to appeal to my interests. I think he looks like a fascinating character, and the Fade has long been the thing I'm most interested in w.r.t Dragon Age lore, so Solas and I are probably gonna get along.

2) Cole: Okay, so I haven't read Asunder, and for the longest time I knew next to nothing about Cole other than that he was a creepy spirit thing and he looked like that guy from American Horror Story. Then I saw some of the banter snippets from various gameplay videos and the Skyhold demo and...he's really ridiculously adorable? It's crazy how adorable he is. And weird. Reeeally really weird.

3) Blackwall: Another character who my opinion of changed very rapidly. At first I looked at him and thought, "this guy's gonna be Inquisition Dad. He's going to give pep talks and lectures about The Good Old Days." But then...I dunno. Maybe it was Aimo's art. Maybe it was him being announced as a romance. Maybe it was me realizing that he sounds remarkably like Ned Stark and he acts like a more grizzled Duncan so he's basically the Duncan Stark fusion that I've always wanted... Suffice it to say that I am very intrigued by Blackwall and I'm eager to find out more.

Least Favourite Interesting to Me At This Moment In Time (title edited slightly for accuracy)

1) Cullen: I've always been kinda meh on Cullen. I'll admit part of that is the hype. Part of that is also that he's yet another stubbly handsome ginger dude (Bioware have their types I guess). And part of it is because Cullen's always struck me as a bit character who doesn't really have enough substance to carry his own arc. I like seeing him pop up here and there (he seems to have gotten over being completely unhinged in DAO which is nice), but I guess I'm not very interested in him right now.

2) Sera: I'm interested in Sera, but also a bit wary. She's the type of character that'd easily slip into obnoxious if not written very carefully. We shall see if she's able to walk that fine line. Here's hoping that she does.

3) Iron Bull: Same as Sera, really. Bioware has done bloodthirsty bruiser both badly (Black Whirlwind) and well (Oghren/Wrex). Also I really hope I get over this but all I can hear when I listen to Bull is Freddie Prinze Jr. doing his best Sean Connery impression which, while hilarious, absolutely ruins my immersion.

Favorites:

Blackwall: Yay! Finally a mentor/big bro figure! he is also a grey warden. I am interested to know more about the GW and maybe he will talk about some wardens we have met before.

Dorrian: A Tevinter mage! Such confidence!

Vivienne: I want hear what the high-class people are going to say about the Inquisition. Would she be too proud to complain about the mud on her garment when we walked through a march area?

Least favorites (but not disliking):

Sera: I know she is going to be a funny char. But I think her face is too serious to be a funny character. idk, let's see how this works out.

Solas: He seems to be a serious elf mage who is proud of being an elf. He seems to be a boring person.

Top 3:

Cole: I liked him in Asunder, love him in Inquisition. As long as I can remove that stupoid hat, and his hair isn't an unmoving mass of wet straw, then i'll have no probems with him.

Vivienne: Originally she just seemed like the 'sassy black woman' kind of character. Now, especially after her latest video, i'm loving her character's personality. I'm hoping her 'hidden agenda' is something super shocking when it's revealed.

Cassandra: Originally hated her new square-headed look, and usually don't like the pious 'greater good' kinda characters, but with more info/video reveals, i'm liking her more and more. I bet her romance arc will be pretty interesting.

Bottom 3:

Varric: I just... Don't care. I mean, i've always had a thing against short races. Oghren was boring once he'd used up his funny lines. Sigrun was actually ok, but a lil' bland. And Varric's just... I dunno. Unappealing? Over-used?

Solas: I really don't see the big hype about him. As far as I know, we havn't really seen much of him have we? To me he's just some old elf who shoves our hand into a scary green glow :P

Iron Bull / Dorian: These are just aesthetic type things. Overall I like the characters themselves. To me, though, they should not have cast Freddie as Iron Bull. It just sounds bad. And Dorian... Could he be any more stereotypically gay? But as I said, just lil' nit-picks of mine for them 2.

Kurt Hummel from Glee has yet to appear in Dragon Age, so yes, Dorian could. Although, I honestly don't see how Dorian is a stereotype to begin with other than the fact he's not designed to subvert the stereotype at every opportunity, which in my opinion is just as bad as actually being a stereotype.

1. Dorian - Just look at him.

2. Sera - She seems to be really funny and I guarantee she will get some of the most party time

3. Solas - He's mysterious and adorable. Perfect.

I don't really have a least favorite yet, but the character I care about the least (so far), is Cole. But to be fair, I don't know much about him.

Faves

Sera - She's fun, she's crazy, essentially someone I would have fun getting into shenanigans with. I always need a friend like that around.

Iron Bull - I'm fascinated in what his story will be. He also has the chill, fun attitude I'm attracted to.

Varric - Yep, I have a bias from DA2, but I'm also very eager about how his character development will play out.

honorable mentions - Dorian, Solas, and now Vivienne because dat trailer. Even though I have a feeling some of my characters and her won't get along well at all.

Least Favorite.. I can't really make that call yet. All I can say the ones I'm least interested in so far: Blackwall and Cole. But that is likely to change once I get to know them. I have nothing against them, just don't really have a feel for them yet.

LOL D'aww Kurt was so cute though :P

To be fair a lot of us see the stereotype in Dorian; I try not to mention it anymore because it really angers some folks which is not my intention. But it's a huge turn off for me in terms of him being a LI. Then there's Bull, extremely crude-talking bedroom-hopping guy. Yeah, really sad all the serious and romantic guys went to straight and bi female PCs.

Iron Bull's surprising charisma, contradicting characteristics, and depth makes him my favorite so far. Josephine follows, because I think she and I have a very similar "the pen is mightier than the sword" ideal. Then there is Leliana, and old friend, who despite being familiar, is now surrounded with an air of mystery.

Solas, so far, I've come to dislike... he preaches tolerance and wanting to be seen as more than an elf, but he is only willing to pursue a relationship with a fellow elf. He proposes that he sees the world in a different way than others do because of his fade connections, but this only makes him sound more condescending than helpful.

Sera!!!! She's my bae. I feel right now like Sera/Varric/Cassandra will be my new Merrill/Varric/Aveline. LOL I loved Varric in DA2 and I'm so happy to have him back! Cassandra is just a BAMF and I'd romance the heck out of her if I could.

Dislike Cole. He freaks me out! Ugh. I know a lot of people like Iron Bull for some reason but I find him so ugly. I didn't like Cullen before and I see no reason to start liking him in this game yet.
