Currently I am running a core i5 and a radeon hd 6850. How much power is it going to take to overclock the CPU and crossfire the GPU with an R9 270x?

Can you even crossfire a HD 6850 with a R9 270X? Might be I missed some details about Crossfire functionaility, but afaik you can't Crossfire those two.

 

Anyway, rule of thumb for a dual GPU system is 750W (make sure you have enough 6+2 connectors to power the GPUs).

The 270x is a 7870 iirc. They won't crossfire.

But two 270x cards and an i5 highly overclocked, a good quality 650w power supply would do nicely.
