Option one. Recruited dog
Option two. Did not recruit dog
If you select the Cousland hero and choose option to it triggers a change in the tapestry and you are asked if you want to change what are clearly Cousland- only choices. That meansthat the programming how's the relationship for Cousland having the dog a a companion.
Why can't there a third option that indicates that the dog is already a companion?

Well yes, but this is just a small issue I think and doesn't change anything in future games I think.
I suppose they will change the tiles in the future, but you shouldn't worry all too much about it.

Why would that matter? If you are a Cousland, you automatically recruit dog.

Somehow I don't think it will come up in DAI.

I think the point here is "did you have dog?" the wording at best is a nitpick since if that plot flag existed in any DA game they'll only acknowledge that the Warden had a dog.

Well since they have Witch Hunt as an automatic and you get a dog, every Warden that doesn't do US has a dog.

It's not like you started the game with him, with respect to game mechanics. You actually DID recruit him, it just happened in the first few minutes.
It is a horrible design philosophy to make specific tiles for every irrelevant way some outcome can occur when we're trying to make a streamlined and simple system. If your Warden is already a Human Noble, than the Keep already knows why, when, and how you recruited the Dog - don't clutter the system up with tiles that provide literally no new sources of information.

The keep doesnt lock tiles out to you just because you chose another race. Otherwise it would get complicated (although the autosolver won't let you do some of them)

I'm afraid I don't understand the context of your response.

You seem to be asking that the dog tile not show up if you are a HN

No, he's saying a separate tile is unnecessary.

Separate from what? We are saying we only need one recruitment tile. HN does not require a separate dog tile on it's own.
The OP wants 3 choices. HN dog, non-HN dog, and no dog. There is no reason for that.

There is no reason to split recruited dog into two options. It adds no new info and would just waste the Keep's art budget. If you are a HN, then you recruit dog before everyone else, but you still recruit him.Separate from what? We are saying we only need one recruitment tile. He's saying HN doesnt need the tile at all. Which cant be done as tiles dont vanish

The OP is clearly asking for a third HN-specific time for the Dog plot point.
Perhaps they should reword the time to clarify that HNs should choose "recruited," but making it a separate tile only complicates matters further.
