Please don't. This world doesn't need more cain spammers. It's one of the few full-cheese-ahead things that you used to not see around often as of some months ago...
I'd also probably puke if I saw the "robin hood" build one more time.

Heh. So you don't like Flamers, Snap Freeze and the Talon Merc? Is there anything you like? I mean, aside from the extremely cheesy Harrier TGI?

What are you talking about? There's nothing cheesy about the TGI+Harrier. If you don't believe me, 1v1 me with a TGI+Harrier, and you'll see. If I lose, I'll retire.
Graal + Omni-Blade + Incendiary ammo and (on PC) only spec into 1 arrow type or you'll need to patch the key-bindings glitch.
I'm the only person who uses conc-arrows it seems; there are so many anti-armour kits available but little that can ragdoll a Phantom in quite such an amusing way as a Talon with conc-arrows. ![]()

I spec into Concussive Arrows, actually. For the same reason...
Talon Merc is pretty much easy mode once you get used to it.
I have specced mine like this: http://kalence.drupa...!34J56324!A.AE8
Probably not the best spec but it works for me.
The main problem is that you need line of sight. The arrows curve a bit and aim themselves but only if you actually have a target lock. So White/Dagger Hazard is not going to be much fun and Cerberus smoke bombs will impair you, too.
At all other times you can just spam Heavy Melee. AP arrows are enough to one hit every mook and if you open up with your shotgun before firing arrows, then Dragoons and Pyros are dead with one hit, too.
Cain mines are nice to cut off choke points or for getting rid of bosses quickly, although it takes some practice to place them correctly at their feet. Zooming in helps with that.
The Talon Merc only has grenade powers, so cooldown is not an issue and you can laugh at seeker swarms. You can load up all the heavy weapons without a problem but I would make sure you have something for long range sniping because your arrows might not reach (and they don't go through cover). Crusader works nicely for that although on a laggy host you might end up doing no damage at all since both the Crusader bullets and your arrows are projectiles.
There are tons of other weapons to choose from but something with an Omni blade would probably be best. ^^
Not true, actually. If you just aim in the general direction, the arrows will still curve to hit, even at extreme range. Even around corners, if you do it right.
The really fun bit is if you use cover right, your arrows fly out in an entirely different direction than you're aiming. This is good because you can see more than your character can; place your hard cover properly and you can curve arrows AROUND that hard cover and out into battle, hitting enemies that cannot hit you. Complete damage immunity, even from possessed scions. Hard to do though; gotta memorize the good hard cover locations.

Yes and no. At extreme range the arrows aren't reliable and killing stuff can take too long. As long as the enemies aren't moving quickly it's all good but when they do the arrows don't seem to do the same damage or get stuck in some part of the map. I find medium range works best because then enemies can't dodge your arrows as often.
I almost never host, so I probably never played the TM without lag. That could make the difference I guess.

The Crusader isn't a projectile weapon. It's hitscan but has an unintentional delay. There's a user-made patch to take out the delay. The patch works of-host.

Same difference. ![]()
Lag kills.
Complete damage immunity, even from possessed scions.
I heartily endorse this product and/or service.
Same difference.
Lag kills.
Sure, but with the delay patched out, it won't suffer from lag more than any other hitscan weapon. That said, I've applied the patch, and the Crusader murders.
Call me old fashioned but I'm keeping the game in its vanilla state. I know myself, once I start to mod and patch, I never stop.
Well... maybe just this one...
Cain mines are for scrubs
As BSN's #1 Cain Mine spamming scrub, I approve this message.
I invented Cain Mine spam.
How do u spam them faster than usual?
Basically just set three then the fourth set mine will detonate the first mine. An Acolyte or something to strip shields and stagger is really good on him because the mines are much more powerful versus armor and health. It's cheap as hell gameplay but easy to top board with once you learn to stay alive.

Also, make friends with a DemoGirl and have them camp it up with you.
Depends of your definition of what "sucks".
If this is about fun, I agree with you.
If this is about killing efficiency, lol no, for a character who can do thousands of damage in a few seconds.
pretty much how i feel. i know he can deal serious damage but i just wasn't feeling it fun wise. cain mine spamming always seemed to be the thing that pugs always do and that's what turned me off from him for so long (i've had him since he was released but never touched him until recently). the omnibow kinda made me laugh.
i just got home from work and i need to shower cuz i smell bad but i might take him for a spin later to try some things. i'll probably respec him with no concussive arrows since they disappointed me the most. thanks everyone for the tips. i'm surprised this thread got more responses than i was expecting. but i really just wanted an excuse to post sad kitty picture.
Just trust me on the stagger stick, you need a clear window for arrows and a Falcon or Venom can give you that.
hah. Never used the Falcon on him before, so I just gave it a spin. Excellent suggestion.
