The Keep will not work well on the following browsers/devices:

  • Internet Explorer version 9
  • Internet Explorer for Xbox 360
  • PlayStation 3 browser
  • Default browser for Android

I really REALLY need to know if this is going to be fixed by the time of game release, so I know which copy of the game I am going to buy first. Am I buying for PC, or 360? Because I really want to buy for 360 for traditions sake, but don't really want to rush through 1 and 2 again to line up my world states naturally (though I think I already did a year ago... not sure if I finished)

Will I be able to use the keep on launch day if I have Inquisition for the 360? I don't care if the answer is no, I just need to know so I know which copy of the game I am gonna buy on launch. (Will eventually get both anyway)

The problem had less to do with bioware and more to do with Microsoft. 360 IE is outdated and not really compatible with html5 which the keep is programmed in. So acessing the keep isn't possible for 360.

however You'll make a world state on any compatible device, export it, and when you load up Dai on day one the game will detect the exported state and import it into the game as long as your connected to the internet.

What do you mean by 'line up your worldstates naturally' ? Your choices don't carry over, so you'll have to redo them in the Keep anyway. Having played on Xbox or PC makes no difference to DAI.

Also, you don't need to use the Keep on launch day. You can set up all your world states now on PC, export the one you want to DAI and you won't have to access the Keep from the Xbox browser.

Oh? My save data wouldn't naturally affect my keep presets if I just loaded up Inquisition with DA:O and DA2 save data? I just assumed it would :/

So, I can just set up my choices on the keep now (except for DA:O/DA:2 Custom Hero selection) on the pc, and then when I log in with Inquisition to my Origin account on XBOX 360 it will take my preselected choices?

Also, I still kinda wanna know if the keep is ever going to be compatible with XBOX 360's crappy browser. Since it is on a list of known issues that are being worked on, it shouldn't really be on that list if it won't ever be fixed :P

Thanks for the advice, I guess I will have to settle for not having my custom heros :(

For your custom heroes you can try downloading the standalone character creator for DAO on PC and uploading your character from there.

And yes, as long as you're connected to the same Origin account on the Keep and the Xbox, the Xbox will be able to recognize the worldstate you made on your PC.

I haven't heard specifically, but I see no reason a worldstate cannot be created from PC and imported into whatever console you're utilizing.

BTW: If you have a good computer (as in meeting Bioware's recommended specs) I'd definitely go PC because it's going to smoke last gen console performance and graphics. Next best option is PS4 if you can spring for it.

Yes, that's exactly how it's supposed to work.

We won't know for sure if it does or not until the game is released, I suppose, but yes, that's definitely the idea.

This is not meant to be a PC vs console argument, but why would you buy it on the last-gen system?

Some people prefer consoles to PCs... and its possible they don't have the $400-$500 to shell out for a next gen version.

Just to reiterate what's already been said: You don't need to access the Keep on the machine you're playing DAI on.

Work on your world state from your PC, "export it" and that world state is saved to your Origin account

When you boot up DAI on your 360, it will ask you to link to your Origin account. Do that and when you start a new game, there should be an option to import your save from the Keep. The devs said they would be modeling how this works on a twitch stream, so stay tuned for this Friday for a demonstration.

Yeah, I'm a tad broke, so I'm buying on 360. I'm fine with playing on it, since the gameplay mechanics are identical. I don't care about visuals as much as a lot of ppl. My main concern will be the story and acclimating to the new gameplay mechanics.

Honestly, I've played DAO on PC and 360 and the graphics aren't that much different. I'd say maybe you'd only notice a bad difference if you had a standard TV hooked to your 360, but I have a HD TV and I was very happy with the quality of the graphics coming from my 360.

All you need to do to get the worldstate on your console or pc is to be connected to the internet, from there it will show up when you go to start a new game (based on what we've seen on twitch)

I think that was partially engine based as well. You can't really get anymore detail out of the game by increasing the settings

Honestly, just because it's what I originally played DA:O and DA:2 on, nice to get away from the computer every once in a while :P

I want it for PC too, and yes, my machine can probably handle it, but I guess I just kind of want to finish what I started so long ago on the 360 on the 360 :P

Coming from someone also playing on 360, if I were you I would get the PC version. It's the same price and you'll get a visual experience that last gen consoles may miss out on and more immersion. The Keep eliminates any need to stay on the 360.

Hey all, just popping in to clear up some confusion (I've added a note to the post in News & Announcements as well).

Because the browsers on Xbox 360 and PS3 are older and don't have adequate HTML5 support, you won't be able to see the Keep as it was fully intended (using those platforms). This does not mean you can't export your world state to 360 or PS4. It just means you should build your world state(s) on a separate device/browser - when you're done, you can export a world state to PC, Xbox One or 360, and PS3 or 4.

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks a bunch :D Now I can wait till I get a better monitor to pick up the pc version, and safely pick up the 360 version for now :D

Back to my Mass Effect Marathon ^^

I know the ISS doesn't work at all on my PS4 browser and I can't get to the beta feedback button once I press it to submit a bug report :L

"Custom heroes" is such a bad way to put it in the Keep.  It's a 2d portrait of your hero. No model is imported
