@ check your PM and try that one. If you're sure that you've got a clean and full install, and those files are 100% full files from En_DAI - skip straight to the latest part.

PS!!! I've checked your link there's NO way the entire DAI text has weight of 60kb!!!! Whatever it is - it does not content the localization itself!

Can you send me those files too please ?

So, has anyone actually been able to somehow change the game to English - text as well as audio? I'd sacrifice the German text if it meant I could have everything in English, but I don't suppose there's a way yet?

What Germans are unable to get english language too? That's bizzare. And here I thought regional locks were caused by different prices between countries. I doubt DA:I costs cheaper in Germany. Or any other EU country that uses german.

I assume you've got a full German version right?  Initially you were promised either some sort of free patch or an option to change the language as the download starts. Probably, you should ask someone out there.  On the other hand, we've got En VO with the locked RU-only text, and we were promised to have an option..

EA decided to catch up to USD exchange rate and has DAI price rise to 1799RUR for standard edition (was 1499) and to 1999RUR for Digital Deluxe (was 1799) from the moment of digital release

+300rub on release?.. Well, I can't say that it's really unexpected. Where have you heard that?

Can you send me those files too please ?

For some reason you've quoted me, and I've got none at the moment. Not even a pre-load.

It was known from the start that France and Germany get DAI with their native VO with a possible  option to get en_VO somehow at some point.

Has anyone noticed the size of the main executable? It's about 80 MB, and I've got a bad feeling that they've compiled the localized strings directly into it. All the other suspect files are just too small, I'd expect something of the order of several megabytes. Does anyone have the CRC sums of both the Russian and English/int'l main execs? Are these identical?

Well, sh.., if it's encrypted and protected by Denuvo we are doomed.

Btw, did you try to compare file size? Any difference? .sb and .toc files from win32 look important too.

I hope EA at least put English pack as DLC, I mean.. seriously, this is insane

EDIT: Derek... I took your words and I believed...   :(

I would pay for eng, this situation is just dumb, very dumb. Castrated version of the game is a sad thing.

Yeah, well, I used a VPN for preloading and everything, but my game is completely in German, despite having the Orgin client in English. I can change the text language in the options, but not the voice.

I really hope we'll get the option when the game officially releases, or am I the only German having this problem or missing something?

Still cannot understand why not offer two versions - cheaper regional one with locked languages and more expensive international one -  and let people decide what they want? I would totally pay more for proper experience. Honestly, the mere sight of Cyrillic in my games puts me off, even if the translation is decent.

Adding en.sb and en.toc files and deleting ru files causes the game to show an error about no entitled languages

Adding both ru and en files causes the game to be in Russian and I don't see a way to change it to English

Renaming en files to ru causes the game to be stuck at loading screen

So I'm out of ideas

The paths in en.sb and en.toc are leading to locations of the localization files but those files do not exist. That means one of two things:

Either localizations are in those cas_*.cas files, which would mean that all versions have all localizations

Or it is indeed embedded in .exe file like someone suggested previously, which would be very stupid thing to do

Well, I suggest call the president and wait till some genius figure out how change languages.
Or prepare mass attack:
- spam topic on answers.ea.com (that's a polite start - http://answers.ea.co...3279#U3983279);
- spam topic on bioware forum;
- tweet to devs (I tweeted to Mike Laidlaw - https://twitter.com/...7220455899136).

@Vader066  ru.sb and ru.toc to small to contain localization text.

You could probably compare file and directory sizes (at least data\win32 folder from English version).

EDITED: forum deleted my link o_O

As for the English files... there weren't any other files in the complete, released English DA:I. So they are encrypted somewhere.

As I said, I have used a searching utility to scan every single file in DA:I folder. It has shown that there are ru_RU strings in the following files:

DragonAgeInquisition.exe

ActivationUI.exe

Activation.dll

Activation64.dll

I am playing the game now... with Russian text. And it's terrible. I don't want to see ****** 'РАЗБИЕНИЕ БРОНИ' or 'ВОЛЬНЫЕ МАРКИ'. I try to pronounce English words each time I read something in the game to somehow ease the pain, but it's not working that good - there's way too many text. Other than that the game seems awesome. But we really need to do something about the language.

Oh and yeah... If anyone has a minute, spare it and write something to the developers/EA. Via twitter, or answers.ea.com or feedback or forums - wherever. Let's make this hot. I'm tired of being ignored.

That's why I believe localization files are embeded in one of the big cas_*.cas files

I checked hashes again and exe file is the same in both Russian and English versions so they are not there

DragonAgeInquisition.exe

ActivationUI.exe

Activation.dll

Activation64.dll

All of theses files are the same in both Russian and English versions so they shouldn't have any effect on game language

I want to play this game so much, but I can't because of the language, it's became unbearable after character creation :(

EA I'll pay you more just give me the damned English languge

That's why I do not understand. Why they do not want more money? They are EA, they usually want all the money and then some on top!

have you compared any of final conversation-something files and other files outside loctxt? currently it looks like that folder only has sort of the 'map' while the dialogues and etc are contained elsewhere.

Do you really think that they actually know how to make money in modern world? Hell no. In the past they got big, but now they suck. They want more money so much, that they miss even the obvious things.

Unfortunately, I don't have internet connection fast enough to try, but what if one takes english version and simply replaces all the files that differ in russian one? Or even all the files? Installation procedure is just copying the files to designated folders and setting registry values, which wizard does automatically, but it can probably be done manually.

Totally agree, having people speak in English and then choose from Russian paraphrases is very painful :(

I thought the language version was based on which language you picked for the Origin client?

Are you guys telling me I'm downloading my game in ugly French dubbed version with no option to change it???
