All things considered they could've gone farther and included Ukrainian text, cause that's where I'm from. But nope. Russian only. Christ...
Yeah, you'd think if they lock us in EA-Russia domain they would at least provide our language text. I'd even play it for novelty!
Is it possible that you will get banned (the game removed/keep not accessible, etc.) if you use VPN to buy the game in a different region?

Well, they didn't do it for Mass Effect. Chances for this one to get it officially are practically zero. It's a segregation of 21st century.

you should've dropped the VPN connection befor finalizing the payment. At least it worked for me. You put game into the basket, chose the pay methods and befroe proceeding with the last yellow button you disconnect back into your normal ISP.
I'm not interested in refund nor in buying DAI by using VPN or other means to escape my region.

In my Origin I have the option to download an English language file (even though I'm in North America). When I logged on earlier, I got a message there was no content available and it took me to the game info page where I had the option to download the file for English.

That is English VoiceOver. We already have it. We do not have subtitles/UI and codex text in English. So they are basically trolling us with that file. And yes, I downloaded it, no change in text language.

Same for me... your Credit card will be decline if you leave the VPN up at the last checkout. LAst screen you need to return to your country or it always decline.
Too many decline can block your credit card so careful.

This is a business decision, not technical. I doubt devs would be able to do anything. And the publisher will most likely not consider any changes to the current state of things. So it is either vpn-like grey area solutions or waiting for separate packs on the Internet (which also are not really legal).

Actually, although the ruble is collapsing, it's still not dirt-cheap. The price in rubles is 1999 right now, which is $42.7 vs $44.5 in Mexico.

Well, I'll be joining my voice to the choir. I had the same unpleasant surprise as everyone else. I'm French but I live in Russia and yes, I like my games in English. I know enough Russian that I could struggle through the Russian text but I don't want to. It'd ruin the experience. I'd noticed this problem when I bought the pre-load but I was still hoping to get the English in-game. Doesn't look like it's the case.
And, you know, I could even understand the "cheaper game in russian, more expensive international version" thing - though I do feel cheated by it. But we don't even get the option to select one or the other and pay more for the unlocked english. I'll get a refund and buy the european version elsewhere, and this is the last time I buy anything directly on Origins.
If this is an attempt to stop people from pirating it's the most idiotic one ever. Because y'know, the pirated version doesn't have this stupid lock on it.
I could keep yelling about this for a while but I guess it's all been said before. I just hope the VPN-to-Mexico option works right for me too.

EA doesn't care (for now) if you buy the game from another store.
