I am from Trinidad and Tobago, an English speaking country, every time I log on to Origin, I keep logging on to the mexican spanish page, when I type the us address I get the us page.

Only when I go to specific games or carts, I log back on the mxican again, no matter how many times I change the address, it keeps logging me back to mexican, and I am from Trinidad and Tobago english speaking.

Those fools at EA have my country as a spanish address, I message them many times, and got no solutions, only excuses and I am being ignored.

I recently purchased the mass Effect Trilogy pack, because I want to support Bioware and get properly running games with no glitches. I have Mass Effect 2 and pirated copies of Mass Effect 1 and 3.

My brother has to bring it down from the states when he gets it. I want to legitimately download the DLC and EA makes is extremely hard, I have lost my patience with EA.

When I downloaded DLC from Bioware 2 years agao I got no problems,

EA IS  selfish company that neglects international customers because they think they get the most money out of American and Canadian customers, ALL customers are to be respected.

I hope Bioware gets free from EA, who are selfish!

I cant buy DLC from amazon.com because its illegal to sell outside the USA.

Is there any way I can download DLC without origin and amazon?

I am sorry to hear that, but it is true. They just don't care about few people, because they think they will make less money doing that, than actually moving their asses will cost them.

Corporate thinking at it's worst.

Be glad, that people here actually managed to find a workaround. I already gotten used to it.

For DLCs, use VPN. Legal or not... Well, not really. Just be smart about it. Hard to accept rules, that were made without thinking about you, right?

I discovered last night, that I dont need the store fixed to download the DLC, I just click the bioware links, and the EA pages they send me to are in English and finalises my payments.

When I get the Mass Effect Trilogy pack I ordered I will use Origin to download the DLC.

I will not however buy actual games from origin, because of the same language and regional settings problem, even people from the USA get that problem if they are in a country that the regional and language settings are not in english!

Is there any way to download the english subs? I can only play with french voiceover and it's just awful...

Could someone upload the en.sc and en.toc files from their english version somewhere?

Did you try this method: set the Origin client in English (properties), uninstall DAI and try to redownload the game.?

I set the Origin client in English when I bought the game and got the English-only version only (no options to change languages in the in -game menu). I live in France, no VPN active at the time I did that.

Hope this helps.

My Origin client was always in English, its the store itself that is mexican and en espanol, (in spanish), even when I click on the store in my origin client it's en espanol.

The origin client itself thankfully is always in english.

I can download Bioware DLC through Bioware, and all EA links to downloads are in English, I buy my Bioware points directly from Bioware, and Download DLC through EA which thankfully is in English.

Origin store itself is the only problem though selfish folks at EA did not fix for over 2 years, and thankfully my Bioware DLC don't come directly from origin.

If I can get the games in English I might try it though too late.

As I bought my MassEffect Trilogy pack physically from amazon and had it shipped to my brother in the USA, to save me money in shipping, he will be back in my country next Saturday.

I can't download Mass Effect 3 DLC until he gets me my game, even though I bought some DLC already.

I have ME 2 i bought some years ago, and deleted my pirated ME3 as there were trojans.

I bought the Trilogy because I want to support Bioware, and get proper version that work properly.

What I want though is a means to activate my games offline as I dont want to go online everytime I have to install my games

Still no answer from EAware?

Is my guess that there is no way to change text language without messing around with game files or being forced to interact with EA customer infuriator, correct?

Whoever is resposible for this decision to region lock text language should be either fired or significantly reduced in position. This is an unacceptable business practice which is an obvious abuse. Basicly customers under region lock are forced to buy a product at a higher price, in many cases addtionaly charged by banks for international currency transactions for a service which was available couple of years ago without any issues.

Treating customers from countries or regions in which English is not an official language in that way is scandalous and insulting.

Since there is a patch coming soon, someone in possession of native english version should check if language files get changed with it, and provide the updated versions if needed.

There are some text files in different languages in patch folder, but there is no change in options available.

In the main game files English language text  files are put in other folder, any combination of switching and renaming the files available in the folder and linked in this thread doesn't work, in fact it either stops the game from launching or menu text disappears comletely. Which means that Origin is the issue, other languages are simply blocked through Oriign, question is: what for? Licensing? If so, why would those license issues appear out of thin air? And if licensing is the issue why would English text files be there in the first place?

What kind of a moron agreed to it? It is beyond any logical reasoning.

Luckily I just beat the game like 2hours before patch :) tho I was planning 2nd playthrough but oh jesus, Polish translation is so bad, names of the items - pathetic, dialogue translation, it just hurts my eyes to read that. Will see, my guess is patch removed English data from some file so it shows no text at all - those two files we patch contain only links to files with English data, so it might be the case English data was "unpatched" from all those files.

The funny thing, they managed to block language change, but they failed with patch - now we have plastic shiny hair even on ultra and game looks ugly. So yeah, nice job here.

My country is an English speaking country, and on origin, I am stuck in the mexican spanish region, thankfully EA site itself automatically takes me to the USA english, and all bioware DLC except for the actual games, take me to EA american download page, and NOT that garbage origin.

No matter how helpful the Indian customer service wanted to be, the main selfish monkeys at EA keeps putting off and closing my case.

Only way EA will change is hit them in their pockets!

Wow, they actually removed the English texts from the Polish version so that patching the .toc and .sb files doesn't work anymore.

Why the hell would they actually bother with that?! Was it really THAT MUCH of a problem?

Seriously, now I'm pissed.

Probably because you're discussing how to exploit their own mistakes and change game language on their official forums where they can just read it, fix it and corner you with a regional, locked version. And STILL not honor us with an official response.

The problem is the translation looks like it was made with google translate or either person who made translations didn't know English or Polish (depending on which side was responsible for that). Some names of items, locations and attributes/stats are absolutely ridiculous in Polish, to that level it feels awkward to play in my native language, yet I'm forced to.

Why would not talk and share work arounds here? They need to know we don't give a **** about this regional language lock crap. Seriously, this is not a Soviet union where they brute forced Russian. Shouldn't we have a free choice of language based on our preferences. Still I don't get the point of this idiotic localization stuff going on here. Hopefully someone smarter than me will figure out what changed with recent patch, so those fixes don't work anymore. And I'm sorry for the people who don't understand the language of owned copy of the game, seems the got hit hard and we all got kicked with braking the graphics and introducing new issues with this crappy patch, which didn't even fix key problems of controls with mouse and keyboard.

Yeah, I know that they can do it. The question is - why would they? What do they have to gain from it? I mean, someone actually had to spend manhours coding in a "fix" to make the language change not work. What's the logic behind it? I really don't understand :/

It's one of two things, I think:
- BW patch removed english text from compressed files completely
- Patch changed something in compressed files so old pointer localisation files no longer point to needed data.

So, there needs to be some investigation made. People who used Outcome for language fix, did it break with the patch?

I used Outcome. It broke. Now I can't start a game - EA activation screen pops up and tells me to log in with Origin. Should I try logging in?

Can someone with access to an English version share their patched files? Maybe the offsets changed.

Yeah, after looking at the manifest - it's possible the locations have just changed. Can anyone please upload the en.sb and en.toc files from after the patch?

You should. At least, when I was trying Outcome workaround, I had to log in with my Origin account. I think it's because Outcome does not actually circumvents DRM, just makes the checks required without launching Origin client.
