Ah I see! It's the other method! I've never used it before but I will try now. Thank you very much for your help.
BTW yes, I'm stuck with the russian version. Ugh.

Sure thing. Well, I assume you have russian version if it is polish or in other language it's still the same but names of the files will be different. For russian it's ru.sb and ru.toc, for polish I believe it's pl.sb and pl.toc etc. Go to you \Dragon Age Inquisition\Data\Win32\loctext folder. There should be 2 files, ru.sb and ru.toc. Rename them, for example by adding "_" in files name like _ru.sb and _ru.toc. Just in case you will need them. Then place respective files from Luxorek's archive into this folder, en.sb and en.toc. Rename them to ru.sb and ru.toc. Open ru.sb with text editor, I've used notepad++ myself. Then use "Replace" option of your editor to replace all /en/ with /ru/ in this file. Save. Repeat the same with ru.toc. Then do the same stuff with 2 files from \Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch\Data\Win32\loctext, i.e. backpack original files by renaming them, place new files and rename them to ru.sb and ru.toc and replace all /en/ within those files with /ru/
Didn't work for me, the game won't load now ![]()
Try repairing the installation and going through with files again. Make sure to use advanced editor like Notepad++, those bundled with Windows mess up the files. Also make sure you use the right files from right folders, I almost used es files instead of en one time.
Can't we just replace some files like we did before?
Can't we just replace some files like we did before?
You can't. English version uses /en/ in its paths in the files, russian - /ru/, polish - /pl/ etc. And the game expects them when loading. If you just replace files without fixing paths the game simply won't load at all. I can upload fixed files with english UI for russian version of the game but it will work only if you have russian one.
PS: Actually, here you go, since it took me only few minutes. Put files from loctextMAIN into \Dragon Age Inquisition\Data\Win32\loctext and from loctextPATCH into \Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch\Data\Win32\loctext
Again, it will work only for russian version.

Yeah, I used Notepad++ and all that. Still wouldn't load, I've tried twice.
Eventually I have just repaired the game once again and than put those two files from the archive Luxorek have posted and everything works fine. No need to replace or change paths or anything... ![]()

Thanks a lot, Zulfurlubak, downloading now.

Yeah, I've done the same at first, just put files from Luxorek's archive into their respective places in my DAI folder, and I got the infinite loading screen after that. Very weird.

It worked for Mass Effect 3. Or is this changing the voices as well?
ME3 and DAI are different games on different engines, so they most likely use different systems for resource handling. DAI has deeper distinctions between International and Localised versions where game itself checks with Origin for allowed languages and only loads them. So you have to fool it into thinking it's loading texts in, say, Russian when you actually made it read English texts.
An example. In english-fied ME3 MP announcements were in the language user had defined. In fixed DAI MP announcements are in the language Origin permits for that specific version. Which is why Outcome method works without editing files, it bypasses Origin-demanded language permission check.
Hi,
What if you ran the game with origin? Any way to start it in English after that?
Thanks.

Yes, you can still play the game in English. Check post #705 in this thread.

Derp: changed my ip; ran like butter.

Is there a way to use Outcome method (without editing any files) after the latest patch? If not, why?
The method is described in the very first post of this thread, files you need to add to loctext folder should be found just several posts higher too (the latest version of.them).
hi, i have no Polish language in dragon age inquisition and I wanted to play in Polish, to whom should I report a feed of this problem to be fixed, please just about creating a Polish language add-on downloads, sorry for bad english
I took the eng files from my newly patched DA:I folder. From both the main and patch data. Hope it helps.
Could you please upload the new language files that are updated with the patch 6? It was working fine until patch 6 came out today. I tried the same method again with the files you shared but no luck, I'm stuck on loading screen. ![]()
I live in Kazakhstan right now, my native is Russian, but same as topic starter I prefer original language if it's English. Yesterday i bought DAI, I saw that russian version only supports RU and PL languages, but i also saw English voiceover pack in downloadable content area and its description said that all dialogues will be available in English. Unfortunately EA played a cruel joke, only available language in Audio options area was Russian. So i started to google how can I play the game in English and found this topic ofcourse, I decided to refund and my request was just approved via live chat, so I lost the game from library but I didnt receive my money back, and EA advisior said that it will take 5-10 days for me to receive the money. So my question is for people who did refund, how long it took to get your money back, I hope it won't just disappear right?) Also i have a question about Mexican version, if Ill buy it and play multiplayer, will it connect only with those who have the same Mexican version?
Oh i guess i found my answer to multiplayer question
As for the multiplayer, you're matched with people nearby for the lowest possible ping.

I'd like to double that request. Needed files are en.sb and en.toc from Data\Win32\loctext folders, located in main game directory and in Update\Multiplayer_DLC1. Update\Patch folder seems to have all languages.
Screw this, I'm going home. ![]()
Just uninstalled DA:I completely.
I'm never bying anything from EA or Bioware again, it's just not worth it.
I too need these files.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Data\Win32\loctext\en.toc and C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Data\Win32\loctext\en.sb
I used a way with notepad++ and renaming files maybe month after release and i confirm it works. I used It to get Polish subtitles since i live in UK and my game had only English language.
The problem I have now is that I have subtitles in Polish but Jaws of Hakkon DLC is in English and i don't have a way to get updated pl files:P
Zulfurlubak, would it be possible for you to re-upload the files after the latest patch? Everything worked beautifully prior to the last patch...
http://www24.zippysh...3avCU/file.html(Loctext MAIN)
http://www24.zippysh...hVtCO/file.html(Loctext PATCH)
These are the ones that I use and they are working perfectly. Keep in mind that this is for russian => english, if your game is in another language then you know what to do ![]()
I still see some texts in russian, so I assume these files are not up do date. It would be great if someone could upload english files from the latest version of the game.
