@Ledge & c300g97:
I don't know what's the problem in your case...
I've re-downloaded my own files from the #788 post link on my another PC with DAI installed, put two files from "Patch 11 main folder data" folder into /Dragon Age Inquisition/Data/Win32/loctext (nothing else there) and from "Patch 11 folder data" folder into /Dragon Age Inquisition/Update/Patch/Data/Win32/loctext (all kinds of other multi language files there). All works just fine. I have main game and Black Emporium, Dragonslayer/Destruction MP Expansion only and don't have Jaws of Hakkon, Spoils of Avvar/Qunari, Descent, Trespasser DLC. If you have those installed may be that's the case? Try to ask Ivy Lavellan - she has all of them and seems her setup works.
Please give people in certain regions freedom to choose an English version

Went I put the files into the folder, it asks me if I want to replace (overwrite) the exisiting files in that folder. Do i do overwrite them? (the original - the the file already in the folder are alot bigger than the ones that I downloaded from #788) or do I rename them and add them to the folder?

For the sake of safety personally I've renamed the original and just add the modified ones.
Strange that original files are a lot bigger in your case - for me they are:
1. /Dragon Age Inquisition/Data/Win32/loctext - ru.sb = 26820 bytes, ru.toc = 7558 bytes (modified). ru_.sb = 26878 bytes, ru_.toc = 7558 bytes (original backup)
2. /Dragon Age Inquisition/Update/Patch/Data/Win32/loctext - ru_.sb = 7471 bytes, ru_.toc = 9978 bytes (original). ru.sb = 7471 bytes, ru.toc = 9978 bytes (modified)
I.e. nearly the same size.

I worked this out, it works now!! The problem was my stupidity, MAIN FOLDER goes in data/loc text and not in update folder.... Shame on me
Anyway i still need the files of the trespasser's dlc! Now is in sale, and i hope to get it.

OK, I've just purchased DA:I - Game of the Year Edition on sale, so I have it now with all current DLC available. I tweaked all those en.sb/toc files to make the Russian/Polish game run as English. The files are here. Archive includes original English files (en.sb en.toc), modified English files (ru.sb ru.toc) and backups of the original Russian files (ru_.sb ru_toc) for the main game and all current DLCs. Just extract the folder "Dragon Age Inquisition" into your game folder (in my case it's E:\Origin Games\) replacing files when asked. Enjoy! ![]()

Thank you so much for the files. This worked perfect. I am so glad I tried this before trying to bother with a refund then a repurchase. Merry Christmas!!... or whatever non denominational greeting you prefer ![]()

Guys I know this is a bit of necromancy, but if possible I'd like to ask for help.
I used the files generously provided by Serg BlackStrider, changing them from ru to pl, since Polish is the version I am stuck with. I think that I might have done something wrong, since bits of text are still not English. For example in menus the description of the hardest difficulty level is in Polish, some subtitles in dialogues are randomly in Polish, the text for "Basic statistics" in inventory screen is in Polish.
Is it like this for everyone who used this method or am I doing something wrong?

Did you just renamed my files from ru.sb/toc to pl.sb/toc or you edited them as well with Notepad++ replacing all /ru/ with /pl/ inside them?

I think I found the source of the problem.
I have indeed edited files in Notepad++ and replaced /ru/ with /pl/, however I did it only for the files in folder "data". After switching loctext files in Patch folder it solved the most of the problems (like most of Options menu and "Core Stats" in inventory screen or abilities upgrades added in Tresspasser). However a "Trials" (at least I believe it'd be Trials) options are still PL. Those are the optional challenges.
Are they introduced in Black Emporium? Since it seems there are no Black Emporium files in package you provided (thanks again for that!) which could account for the discrepancy.

Black Emporium is just new area with some unique stores and Mirror of Transformation to change your character's appearance. This folder (or subfolders) doesn't contain any RU (or PL) files to be edited. That's why I don't have them in my package.
I don't know which DLC/patch introduced the *Trials* options (I only noticed them now when you've mentioned them) but they are all EN in my case - fresh DA:I - Game of the Year Edition (RU/PL) setup + applied files from my package. So you might try to check once again whether you edited all those files.

Hmm. I suppose I might need to change ru files to pl in folders for each DLC? Since I have not taken that into account when I was copying the files to my folder.
I will try it later, once I get back home and see if that helped.
Thanks for using your time to try and help me understand the issue.

Exactly.
Well. That is awkward. I took ru file in each of DLC folders provided, edited them to pl and copied (after making backup) into loctext folders of each dlc. And now it appears I am stuck on loading screen (well I also added the eng files from the download, which might have been a mistake). The first one - black screen, Insquisition logo in bottom corner.
If I restore backed up files, I can play all right, but it seems all DLC content is back to pl (for example the items from Avar and Qunari sets names are Polish and stats in English).
EDIT:
In a pretty interesting twist, I started toying with modification of only chosen DLC folders. I restored original files for Item pack 2 and Item pack 3 leaving modified files in all Singleplayer DLC (I did not bother with multiplayer dlc since I hold idea of multiplayer Dragon Age in contempt). And the game seems to work.
This whole thing is pretty weird.
EDIT 2:
In what I consider a show of pure tactical brilliance, once I figured the above, namely that Item Packs seem to be the issue I took the original en files and edited them to pl. Now all content is in English.
Thank you Serg for putting me on a right track and inspiring the rigorously scientific approach (or maybe point'n'click) of trying everything on everything till the whole thing started to work.
Also - damn Bioware and EA for even forcing us to jump through freaking hoops in order to achieve that...

So i haven't been messing around with this since the launch, but wanted to play the game again.
As i understand i have patch 12 version, so all the .sb and .toc files here are not working. Can anyone upload the files for update 12?

AFAIK there is no update 12 for PC (yet?). You can find the latest working Ru>En PC files in my post #805 up there.

Hmm, i tried that and in game i cant see any text at all (neither in menu or in game). Maybe i'm doing something wrong? I copied all the files, and change ones in Data folder from ru.sb to pl.sb and so on, and replaced all /ru/ occurances in them with /pl/ with notepad++ . I haven't touched any dlc files, since i dont have any of the large dlcs yet.
Also i thought there is update 12 version, because i red somewhere how to check my version and in Installer folder in installerdata.xml file there is line: gameVersion version="1.0.0.12
EDIT: OK, everything seems to be fine now and it works. I was using my old instalation with restored my own backup files, but after messing all up my game stopped even working, just keep crashing before menu. After origin repair i copied your files again and changed them to pl and it seems to be working right now. Thanks.

Just jumping in here to say: thank you Serg for the files, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
I had problems similar to Perzyn, I downloaded the files, edited them (as I had the polish version of the game), but the "Trials" option, along with a couple of others, were still messed up. I tried exchanging the files in DLC's with the english ones, but still it would not work. Finally I just gave up, downloaded the russian version, applied the files and now everything is in english. Thanks again.

Hello guys.
Long story short : just decided to download the trial version(played it on english!),liked it,bought the GOTY Edition - and I can't select english as a text language anymore.
Well, after having read some stuff around the internet I ended up here, and although I'm not russian/polish like most of you (I'm from Brazil) my problem seems similar.
If I delete the "br" files from the loctext folder the game won't launch with just the "en" ones.
So if I got this right, I'm assuming I'll have to edit all of the "/br/" to "/en/" and rename my 'en'.sb/toc files to 'br' on the data, patch and all DLC folders. Is that correct?
Any insight would be nice, cuz the game kinda sucks with the silly translations and makes it a pain to play.

It's the other way around for /br/ and /en/. Open the en files and change every /en/ to /br/ and then rename the en files to br. If you get it mixed up the game won't start or you won't have any text in the game at all.
Could be a good idea to save copies somewhere just in case. Repairing the game in Origin also puts all the files back to normal.

Almost all modern games that are distributed online have one of the
1) Language settings in the game menu
2) Language settings in the service app that distributes and supports them (in Steam for example)
3) Language choice during the installation
Was it that difficult, dear BioWare/EA?
