If its Greenmangaming then no, there is no Inquisition.

However I just looked up this: g2a.com - it sells keys and you download it via Origin (duh), it has the UK English version. And it appears that UK English version is actually more expensive than Russian. And with current rur exchange rate...

Damn you EA for making me buy your game twice...

Actually, anybody has any experience with g2a.com? Insight would be much appreciated.

Edit: I like our language as well with all its beautiful complexity and endless swearing lexicon, but I still have fond memories of attempting to play in Russian and insulting everyone in Highever before i even knew it. Glorious days :D

Check my post above as for the best purchase option for us Russians.

You can cancel your pre-order and get money back via Great Games something program in Origin.

Are you browsing from Russia? Using a proxy?

Because I don't see ANY DA:I deals on GMG.

No, I'm connecting from Poland, it's a straight connection without any proxy. Is it not showing you the game if you click on one of the links I included? If connecting from Russia isn't giving you the same results then I guess they are indeed doing some kind of regional restrictions there :/

Maybe you can work around them using a VPN to make it appear like you are located in a "right" region and pay with Paypal or something, but I never tried it myself so no idea really (the purchase through VPN part, at least)

Ah thank you. I posted mine before I saw your post. Funnily Origin just today took money from my account for Inquisition.

This is really sad.

Although I think you are being a bit harsh. As much as I dislike EA influence on Bioware I think Origin problem is Russian problem. Because you know, our country isnt exactly famous for people-friendly and smart decision-making.

Yeah, so I've figured. As I said you can get your money back. Will take some time though (stated to be 7-10 days).

Harsh? I'm not blaming BioWare for anything. I would appreciate very much if they just as much as gave us any official reply, be it yes or no, but that's it. I don't think I'm harsh about EA. If I was anywhere near their HQ, I'd blow it the hell up with self-made explosives.

I know about the barbarian reputation my countrymen are happily upholding every day, but it doesn't mean you should just treat all people the same. The funniest thing is that we have got region-locked probably thanks to the Europeans, as they used to buy games in Russia much cheaper and then switch language to English.

P.S. Sometimes I'm thinking of moving to EU/US but almost every time I do it, I find reasons for me to enjoy life even here, in Russia. Now that I'm being ALSO cut off from the English content, I am becoming really mad.

(...)

As I said, I just had another talk with EA Community Manager yesterday and today in the Answer HQ. She said (translated):

The only language available in Russia is Russian and Polish. If you want an English language, buy a European version of the game. In Europe you can either buy regional European versions or a general European versions.

Nice ****** client treatment aside, I was basically offered to fly to Europe and buy a game there, (...)

I've seen that discussion. If I concentrate enough I cans still remember bukwy from primary school. Free advice: Before you book the tickets I would wait for her to answer you what she means by "Europe". I strongly suspect that EA definition of Europe may differ from geographical or political definition of the term. Apparently Russia is not in Europe. Nor is Poland. Who knows what is?

Seriously though - all those proposed methods of bypassing regional restrictions... If EA wants people to pay for the game forcing them to fight DRMs is a very peculiar marketing strategy.

@Arthmost.

A bit Off-topic but yeah, moving seems to be the best option tbh. Especially with everything that is going on now. Im trying to find a way to get back to UK, but its not as easy to do (cos you need a proper job and all) once you left Europe in general. I've spent 8 years there and honestly could say that the quality of living is much higher no matter your income. You certainly will earn less than in Russia at the start and for a while but live better and be happier overall. And if you have deep roots here, well family is mobile and friends stay if they are true.

On-topic: I actually thought there were some internal Russian restrictions, but now that I think about it Polish also have the same problem...

@Myst2002

If you still want to pursue this option after what Arthmost posted - I didn't change anything in the store (didnt change country). Just searched for Inquisition and it gave me two options - UK English and Russian. When clicked on UK english I got several payment options among which were PayPal, QIWI and Yandex. So I assume its correct and working.

Haha. Good point, I'll ask her about that.

EA is a very peculiar company in general, I'd say.

I'll talk to you more about that in private messages, if you don't mind, not to clutter the thread with the off-topic discussions.

Do you mean the GMG? Because there are no DA:I deals for me when trying to find them from Russia without any proxy/vpn.

Lastly, I don't want to be locked to play with Russians in the multiplayer.

No one is going to be blocked!

'Englified' ME3 was (and is) fully compatible with MP&DLCs. It was only reset by complex patches, and I don't think there are plenty of them to come.

Copy-pasting a folder once in a couple of months does not sound like a hard task, does it?

I'm buying what they sell me, and play it the way I see it fit. I pay my price to read David and Patrick, not some student that has got himself a dictionary.

Hopefully I'll get the proper text files even before the EU release.

I feel for those who play on consoles, though. No copy-pasting for them, and they pay almost twice as high compared to the PC.

Sure, I get carried away sometimes :).

No, I tried another site - g2a.com

It had English version that seemed to be available. The price difference is also $10.

I'm not blaming BioWare for anything. I would appreciate very much if they just as much as gave us any official reply, be it yes or no, but that's it.

Especially in a forum created by Bioware or EA labelled Feedback & Suggestions. I would expect more interactive participation - at least equal to the level of moderation/thread locking. Locking threads needs to be done. So does responding to consumer suggestions and feedback. Is there no "Community Manager" or "Development Researcher" on here as part of their job description?

Why is it this community basically abandoned to itself?  THAT behaviour is disrespectful, in my honest opinion. Where is our host?

I can hardly blame Derek or Alan for not reading forum much nowadays.

Not especially this forsaken 'Feedback' section, old main 'scuttlebutt' had better chances, that's where the original thread had been.

Derek said:
all installed versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition will include English text, as well as your regional language. Language selection will be available in some manner within the game.
If you are in the Polish region, you will get Polish text, English text, and English VO.

So, Russian/Poland region will have English text available.

not really . if we're lucky we'll get english text only.

@Pen-N-Paper

The thing is it's neither Allan's nor Derek's job to communicate with us, answer questions etc. It's more like their good will combined with some amount of free time. E.g. Allan is Technical Quality Assurance Analyst, not forum moderator or community support. He does post a lot, because he wants to, and many of his posts are very useful and helpful. Same with Derek, which spent some of his time clarifying something that should have been clear from the start.

Right now no comment can change a thing. They had either followed the original plan to provide English text for all the versions, or EA\Origin had restricted the languages. Those who have preordered should be able to get their refund in any case. Either this, or using some 'unofficial' ways to bring some Justice into this world.

ps: To be honest I'm so tired of waiting and playing this 'guess the language' mini-game, that I don't even care anymore. I'll get it in English, one way or another, that's what I know. If need be I'd ask my brother to fetch me a DVD from EU.

We all will get it in English one way or another. The matter of this thread is a plea to lift these stupid locks or reconsider the whole system they're based on. I want to be able to purchase games in English in my goddamn country, not be treated like a degenerate and being locked up.

A small relief lies in amount of people that are with me about this. I honestly did not expect so many English-speaking Russians rushing to this cause - both here and on reddit. We'll surely think of some way to deal with this EA plague. And if they keep pushing us... Well you just don't push Russians.

Really, it is stupid situation. In my opinion - in Russia most players don't buy games. It is complicated to suggest to my colleagues and friends that games must be bought, not downloaded for free. And EA don't try to make things better with stupid restrictions.

If it is really true about only russian text, without choice - then it is last time I buy game from EA.

Well...we do not know what's in game, right? I mean it still can have eng as an option, even with the default Russian UI... yeah, I know that I'm clutching to the straw.

Could you take a look once you pre-load is finished? I mean among the files.

I did. In the VO folder there are two en files, while in the text localization folder there are two ru files. I've already raised hell on reddit and asked people to help us out by providing the en files.

I've got no words in either language to express my thoughts at the moment. If you don't get the 'englification' I'll do my best to provide one within a couple of days. If you do, however, please contact me via the PM. And you know what? I've got an urge to write some bad-bad thread in a 'scuttlebutt', that involves 'promises' anв 'preorder'.  But I know they are going to lock it asap anyway.

Damn EA!..

Phew, I was afraid I'm in almost nonexsistant minority in this case. At least people speak out - all the power to you, guys. With no En files in text and UI folders the whole deal seems glum, but it may change on the release day. Some games only pretend to have single language pack, but have internal option that allows switching to original. Fingers crossed. Otherwise - what's the point advertising all those "award winning storytelling" and "gripping dialogues", if they only available to chosen audience? Daresay, translation in DA:O wasn't apalling and VO wasn't that bad (Alistair's actor was the perfect match and Morrigan was quite on par with original), but translation is translation - it's not a part of development process, it's simply outside the loop. I paid for DA:I, not it's rushed interpretation. Gimme mah goodies. -_-

Just to clear things up, I got a reply from Derek French regarding this. Won't quote in case he wants to make a more detailed reply in this thread himself (and I didn't want to bother him further asking if he'd mind the quote etc) but the short answer is no, unfortunately although they wanted it very much to happen in the end the Polish/Russian edition of the game won't have the English text included in it.

Well... I`m disappointed.

Hopefully, someone will upload English text files *somewhere*.
