My human mage is going to be called Elsa since she's based on the character of the same name from Frozen.

If i go right back to the dilemma of Icewind Dale, trying to name all 6 party members, that was painful. I used bird names for my party eg. Macaw, Ibis, The Owl, Peregrine, Robin and *Hawk*...

If you can't come up with a name on your own, take an existing name from the setting. My main Hawke was Rowan Hawke. The Dragon Age wiki can help.
Avoid taking names of famous figures from *other* settings.
You can also try to take words from the languages which went into Thedas' cultures and vary them to make them sound a little more fantasy-like. Or use historical variations of real names from the cultures which inspired Thedas' cultures..

When I created my first character for DAO, I spent like hours thinking on the name for my female Cousland, finally I decided to call her Rowena. Imagine my surprise when it turned out that the previous queen of Ferelden had almost the same name ![]()
My f!Human rogue will be Arlene, f!Elf mage will be Sandara inspired by Sandara Park from 2NE1, f!Dwarf warrior will be either Marysa or Agneta.

I personally prefer "normal" or rather modern names for my human PCs, that still fit the setting of the franchise in question. So in this case, names like Aidan, Liam or Noah.

These are two nice sites that I use when looking for names:
- http://fantasynamegenerators.com/ This one even has a section for Dragon Age.
- http://www.meaning-o...nm=moon&stype=1 This one I use when I want a name that means something relating to the characters personality or looks.
