i always hoped, once we found out that bioware was moving on to DA2 and now DAI that someone would use the engine of DAO and just do a slight gfx update and slight retool and basically make a DAO 2.0, hell even a 1.5 would make me happy!!! a la Obsidians take on fallout new vegas. its kind of one of those things if you like//love the game you won't mind a very similar game with a new story.

 

i wonder if Obsidian hadn't been working on south park if it might have crossed their minds?

 

also, i'm out of my depth in all areas of this post but what would it take for someone to purchase//use the DAO engine?

 

is it possible that it could ever happen in the future?

 

maybe down the road Beamdog could do something with the engine!!!

 

i just love DAO and the engine, and would love to see other things done with it.

 

anyways, cheers to all the old schoolers chillin on the DAO scuttlebutt forums!!!

The Eclipse engine under DAO suffers from some flaws, the most significant being the memory leak. The Lyceum engine used under DA2 however (which is an updated Eclipse) could still be used with minor tweaks (especially lighting). Personally, I'd love to see a KotOR remake with Lyceum engine.

i just feel like the gaming industry could be SO MUCH BETTER at recycling, in more ways than one...

 

for instance after and engine is used or deemed "old-ish" companies like obsidian or beam dog could use them to make Kotors and DAOs etc. not to mention plastic use, but i'm skewing from whats important here and that's the software!!!

 

how cool would a episode 7 knights of the new republic be!!!??? they just revealed the new star wars title its STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

 

sure at first it seems a tad cheesie, but the movie will name the name so to speak. in fact i think it fits in great with the older titles from the 70s. i'm so sick of nitpicky negativity all over the internet about **** that doesn't matter. if the movie is awesome the name is perfect if not then fine you don't have to even worry about the name, lol.

 

but following what happened at the end of ep 6, with there not being many jedi's this is perfect IMO...

I can stil lremeber the buggy mess called Fallout New Vegas, don't get me wrong, i beated it for like 11 times in a row, but Obsidian cannot make unbugged games.
