I wonder if there is a content related difference between PEGI 16 and 18 apart from a Bloodmode or something? Like, is there a story-relevant difference by scenes missing or such? Or different words used? I'm not so much a fan of the bloodmode, as it just covers my chars red all the time and hides their clothing (
) but I certainly don't mind strong language if it suits the chars and story (some bad-assism never hurt
). So I wonder what's the difference between 16 and 18?
Difference between PEGI versions?

I don't personally follow ratings much since from my own experience K-12 content can be much traumatising for me than K-18 content. I don't really trust judgement of people who give ratings ![]()
I think difference is just: more curse words, violence, drug use and sexual content. In terms of DAI the difference is probaply in the violence and sexual content. I still don't see much difference between the ratings.

Yeah I just wondered what the difference is, if it's big enough to bring out two versions and not just implement a mode or something. I mean this only makes sense if there are indeed differences in language, maybe scenes and so on.

So wait. There are two versions for Europe now?

There is a USK 16 version (Germany) that is supposed to be uncut. I am not sure if there even is a second PEGI version.

There are not two different European versions of the game. Germany is not a PEGI-member and uses it's own rating system for which the USK (Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body) is responsible. So, the only difference is, that the USK rated DAI suitable for 16-year-old players (opposite to the former games which were rated 18 by both PEGI and USK), while the PEGI did not.

Australia has some weird rating systems, they might have their own versions, I know the UK cuts some versions too. International or US version should be uncut.

The uk doesn't generally cut stuff.

No, but they have. One off the top of my head is one of the Mass Effects.

really? I know Australia is notorious for it (see the Saints Row 3 game in particular)

Ya, wish I could remember what it was for. Something stupid. And I want to say it was one or two. And come on, the edits for Saints Row was understandable. Anal Probe. XD Even if they should leave it alone.

So do you think Australia will get a toned down edited version? ![]()
I hope not, I want the full experience ![]()

Don't know, should have heard about it if they do.

I do know that laws on violence and blood in games are very strict in Germany. So it's possible there is a bloodless version for that market. But yeah, it could also just be the separate ratings system causing confusion.

I just hope Australia doesn't get screwed with some gimp conservative edited version of the game -.-
