I watched some gameplay and saw that the chantry lost the inquisition also by not using the oportunity that presented itself instead they denounced it. But my question is why is clear that even the divine is not a saint and not above using underhanded metods and after watching a movie about Cassandra I noticed the bishops are also like that. So why did they trow the oportunity they had? After all herald of something powerful is a oportunity.
Why did the Chantry was stupid enough to lose the inquisition also?

What we know so far is that the Divine was secretly re-forming the Inquisition with her two closest companions Cassandra and Leliana (the left and right hands of the Divine) since the Seekers and Templars were showing signs of rejecting Chantry control.
When the main rift is formed it seems the Divine and most of the upper leadership of the Chantry are destroyed leaving the Chantry leaderless and powerless since they lost the Circles, Templars and Seekers. The Bishop shown in the gameplay seems to be making a bid for power and the Herald of Andraste would seem to be a new major player if they can get the remaining Chantry clerics to support the newly formed Inquisition.

I think that the Bishop appears here (at 0:38)
getting a telling off from Cassandra (he also appears at 1:24). He is the one I assume who has denounced the Inquisition as mentioned by Josephine in one of the twitch streams.
The rest of info was mentioned on the twitch streams.
One of the early missions (seen on the war table) is to address the Chantry, I assume that is where you have to convince them to support the Inquisition with resources and sermons.

Oh I certainly hope so. I've been dying to get a moment of the Chantry's time. We need to discuss some things.

Well if would have been a grand cleric I would have chose to support the pc because I can trough him become a divine and get more influence. Also that would mean I would have been a female so like the previous divine I abuse the authority in the way I suspect she did.

Am I the only one perplexed by this thread's title?
This is full-on WAT territory.

If the Divine is rebuilding the Inquisition on the sly, then it's not common knowledge to the rest of the Chantry. So when the breach happens and you appear with Cassandra who claims to be part of an order no one really is aware was being rebuilt with the Divine's approval, think about how that's going to look, especially to someone who may not always approve of the Divine, even to someone who did.
Now, consider that Cassandra herself apparently thinks you might have caused the breach to start out with and consider that everyone else is likely to think the same ...
It's not like people are going to embrace you with open arms, and what Cassandra does is going to look like a naked power grab with someone who maybe killed off the Divine.
Why would anyone from the Chantry support you again?

Cuz I am a powerful political instrument herald of the who made the chantry oh the oportunities. Also I am refering more to why do members of the church with no integrity that are power hungry do not see the oportunity.

Well initially your not, you are a suspect in the murder of the Divine and the upper leadership of the Chantry, you have to prove your a force for good and build yourself and the Inquisition into a powerful political instrument. You can apparently convince the Chantry of that fact during the game. Any organisation is going to be rocked by the loss of its leader and its upper command structure, especially if the prime suspect in that loss turns out to be a messianic figure converting its members to that figure's cause..
Frankly the Chantry jumping to your support right from the beginning of the game wouldn't make a lot of sense, especially if your playing a non-andrastian Carta Dwarf, Dalish Elf or Tal Vashoth qunari.....never mind if your playing a mage on top of being a Dalish Elf or qunari.

You don't have to like them to take their resources and to use them to increase your support among the nobility and commoners. ![]()

To be honest the only thing the chantry can offer are words. But words are strong and there good to gather troops.

You think the only things the Chantry can offer are words? People who fight with the conviction of faith will fight much harder than people who don't have that same conviction. The Chantry may only have "words," but those words could bolster and inspire faith in your followers. That's nothing to be laughed at or downplayed.

People can believe and fight for ideals that aren't faith you know. Plus destroying the chantry ≠ killing all andrastians
