You heard me right. It is clearly implied that a male Inquisitor can romance Sera in this trailer. She is shown with him just as the Narrator mentions romance. Now those who have been following the games development obviously know Sera likes the ladies only. So why is she presented in this way? What is the motive behind this. Why was Sera not shown with the female Inquisitor? Alternatively why was Maninquisitor not  clearly shown with one of his actual possible romances? Namely Dorian, Cassandra, Josephine or the Iron Bull. Now I know that it is Josephine he is kissing. But they are shown in shadow and from a distance. So if you do not know what Josephine looks like (or rather what her silhouette looks like since that is all that is shown) and or know next to nothing about who can romance who then that could be any female. Sera included. Why was this trailer crafted this way? I am upset about this. It seems to me that some effort is being made to hide the fact that there are romances available other than for a male Inquisitor. And I cannot approve of any motive behind that.

Before you say this has no merit please consider this. We all know the purpose of these trailers. They are to sell the game. To as many folk as possible. If that is true then why give vague, misleading if not outright false info about the romances? I have only one explanation. And that is so that straight and narrow male gamers will be attracted to play the game if they think they can get it on with the hawt elf chick. If that was not the goal when making this part of the trailer than Sera would not have been portrayed as a love interest for a male Inquisitor. She would either have not been shown with the male when the romances are mentioned or he would have been with any of his real options. She was prominently  shown ALONE talking with the dude. And then immediately he is shown kissing someone. A female someone that again could be Sera to the casual uninformed eye. This is not me reading into things or being unreasonable. It is not unreasonable to want the truth to be shown. It is not looking for fault that isn't there. If this was not intentional then it is at least incompetent. Either way I am not pleased with it.

Hang on, I'm going to Google "reading too much into things" and see if there's a word for that.

Why was Sera not shown with the female Inquisitor?

Because the trailer was, sadly, heavily dude focused. If only they could add the female in some scenes so it would have both...

Say what now? Wasn't the part with Sera and male inquisitor stating that choosing a gender leads to consequences when it comes to romance. Sera is lesbian OP.

They talked about romance, but did not show Dudequisitor and Sera in a romantic scene. They did, however, with Josephine. The implication I got was exactly what the VO was saying...gender affects romance. No romantic scene with Sera = no romance with male gender. Romance scene with Josephine = yes romance with male gender.

I am all for them doing whatever they want to get people to buy it. The only way they keep making more games is if they sell enough (which they will). So I am all for them targeting a certain audience and making it look however they want it to look as long as the games keep coming.

Lmao this made my morning, check my friend

Sera is a lesbian(from what i can tell a pretty damn cool one) bioware are silly enough to change her orientation just so x fans get their elf girl. Idk why they did that but errors happen.

Can anyone imagine the political S***STORM if they made sera bisexual they would lose atleast 35% of fans MINIMUM! Dont read to much into it lol

That being said, i think you read things a little too much OP. The trailer did say "gender affects romance" and they showed Sera.

Pre-releae worries. They wouldn't do that considering they would have every annoying SJW on Tumblr on them faster than flies on Horse dung.

I think the idea is that Sera is an example of the romance being locked out because of the choice of gender, not available. Whether that was supposed to be clear or is someone's idea of a joke I'm not sure.

I doubt it was an intentional bait and switch.

She prefers women its been confirmed the point of that part was to show Sera rejecting the inquisitor because she is not into guys. The point was that gender also defines who you can or cannot romance hence them showing the scene with the inquisitor and Josie.

I disagree, I think 35% is too much. Would say 10%, most likely. Now if you said over 50% of the Homosexual Group (choose Gender neutral term) be upset by such a move, then yes. Upset or Disappointed enough to go online and type up a reply then yes.

Personally I dont know why you would make a big deal about it. Hell in DA2 all of them I think were Bi. Maybe not merril but I cant remember for sure.

Neither 35% nor 10% is right. You'll never know the exact amount of %.

So its me being silly my fellow gamers? I don't think so. If you truly do not want mixed messages received then you do not send out mixed signals. Sera was chosen for that moment. If it wasn't to be implied that a male character could romance her then why was she shown at all? Why was Josephine not shown in both scenes? Or Cass or Dorian or The Iron Bull,. Sera was shown in that moment. The male Inquisitor was shown in that moment. How is that open to ANY interpretation other than that Sera can be romanced by a male character? I would like an answer from the Devs. I think it is a big enough deal for that. Even if no one else does. I know that they do not reply here, is that the policy? Not sure. I have asked on Facebook and Twitter. On Twitter I was sent to the romance reveal post here. Which is not answering my question at all of course but I was not surprised.  So I will wait for an answer from the Devs. Until then I will keep pondering and inquiring. I believe, and you may not but to each their own, that I as a faithful buyer of all the Dragon Age  and Mass Effect games deserve an answer to this question. If they tell me no you don't dude or even give me an answer I don't like then I shall let it rest. Should they respond with silence, for deeming my question unworthy or for any other reason, then I will as well. Silence speaks volumes sometimes. So I wait and wonder...

To be honest, I noticed it too.

Having the Male Inquisitor walking after and talking to Sera while the voice over syas "Your gender affects who can romance" was really bad timing. I mean, I don't think theres a worse character to have on the screen at that point than the one romanceable female who isn't availbible to the male protagonist.

Doesn't bother me particuarly, just thought it was a strange choice.
