I'm going to close this down because we're already wandering into "Pander to me" and "corrective sex" angles (bisexuality as a compromise, etc.)
While I understand what OP is saying, I will disagree that people who feel we're clearly pointing out that this specific character (shown briefly on the screen as Sera) are not also able to discern that Josephine (also shown briefly in a quick shot) is a different character.
I don't say this to point out that the interpretation of the OP is wrong, but rather to illustrate that any of this is more likely "we didn't see it that way" and to Occam's Razor that the connection is more than likely unintentionally especially since anyone that doesn't follow the game close enough already is devoid of enough context that you now have to make an argument that we specifically chose Sera because she'd be better to show in that place instead of Cass or Josephine. I don't feel there's a convincing reason why, but I'm probably also biased because personally Cass and Josie would be more my style than Sera would be. So I think a lot of personal perspectives come into play.
Additionally, it's a fair critique that it's male protag heavy as well.
