Will it be my overall game of the year? Very likely, given that 2014, with a couple of exceptions (Dark Souls 2 and The Wolf Among Us) has mostly been a stinker for me. Winning the critic's GOTY would be tricky though, as there are some legitimately excellent games in other genres.

DAI should have a lock on that RPG of the year however. The closest competitors afaik are Dark Souls 2 (great, but not exceptional) and Divinity Original Sin (PC exclusive. And Goofy).

What is everyone's deal with Bayonette?  I think it's just a nostalgia trip for older gamers.

Dark souls 2 is the only real contender.

For those with real taste in games at least.

Nostalgia trip? The first game released only in 2010. The reason everyone loves Bayonetta is because the developer, Platinum Games, know the genre very well. The people there have created some of the most enjoyable and challenging games from: God Hand, Okami, and Viewtiful Joe while they were a part of Clover Studio and Vanquish, Wonderful 101, Metal Gear: Rising Revengeance, and Bayonetta 1/2. They have an incredible pedigree behind them and know what they are doing when it comes to gameplay but tend to falter when it comes to depth in their stories though Okami is the one exception to that rule. If you are a fan of spectacle fighters Platinum Games is the company that delivers and have achieved near perfection on that front which is why Bayonetta 2 has recieved such acclaim.

I definitely think DA:I will be my game of the year though considering my BioWare love  :) and the only other 2014 games I've played so far are Murdered: Soul Suspect and Shadow of Mordor anyway lol.

No idea. PC Gamer already has some gripes with the game play so only time will tell.

Nah, it's a niche audience.  In my, pretty extensive, circle of acquaintances, I've never met anyone who has played Bayonette.  And most of them if they just saw the cover art, they dismiss it as another weird Asain game.  That's what I meant by nostalgia.  Only people who grew up playing the campy, over blown, overly colorful Asian video games will want to play it.  And maybe the hardcore Nintendo fans.

Can't tell without actually playing it.

RIght now, Dark Souls 2 is the run-away winner for me, and DA:I has to be very, very good to come close.

So fans of Dragon Age,

Dragon Age Inquisition is soon to be among us and there are some who have play the game or some of the game(Lucky Bastards ;) ). The rest have only relied on live streams and video coverage. But what do you think, do you think this will be Game of the Year? I have been waiting for a long time for this game. There have been filler games that I have been playing but nothing that has held my attention than this one.

I have a strong feeling that Dragon Age Inquisition will be a strong contender for Game of the Year, not really sure what other game would match up to Dragon Age Inquisition unless Call of Duty Advance Warframe.

I know I will vote for Dragon Age Inquistion for Game of the Year! Will you :)

I'd rather play the game and judge it by its merits than be so foolish as to prejudge something. This its the game of the year crowd is just as foolish as this game sucks crowd, both of which aren't actually making informed opinions.

With all the reviews popping up, it seems very likely that Dragon Age Inquisition will be a strong contender for Game of the Year. Some of  the complaints have me scratching my head. One more week before fans get their hand on the full game. I think a lot of fans will be pleased.

Tough to say whether one will think it deserves that price without having played it. I can say, that in my point of view looking at RPG releases this year, it will be up against tough competition from Divinity: Original Sin and especially South Park: The Stick of Truth. Here's hoping DAI is "just" another amazing RPG in a generally good year for RPGs.

So now we advocate voting before even playing the games?

Next thing people pay upfront for a game that does not even ... oh.

I call it instincts. My instincts are mostly never wrong!
