Who loves ya baby? CD Projekt in an effort to prove that it loves it's fanbase the most has just announced that there will be 16 DLC packs released for the Witcher 3, all of them free to everyone who owns the game no matter what platform they play the game on.

While it is true that Bioware has already announced that the most beloved of their fans are the ones who play on Xbox One surely they have love enough to share with all their fans across all platforms and plan to do something similar in regards to DLC?

I really don't see the point of taking minor bits and pieces of the game and putting them in free DLC that will come after release.

Why not just put them in the original game? It's just a few cosmetic editions and/or small quests.

It's just a marketing trick, I am unimpressed.

^That's a harsh judgment to pass by. With that kind of sentiment, you might as well apply that to BioWare/EA as well. Except, they charge for it.

EA (and to some extent, BioWare) have big fees to pay. Compared to CD Projekt Red who probably has much less fees to pay. Staff is probably the most expensive thing to run a studio/company.

I wouldn't it's mostly likely content that was left out purposely to use as a marketing tactic.

I am asking a question about what Bioware plans to do in regards to DLC for Inquisition. Not sure how such a question has nothing to do with the game I am asking it of?

Yeah, except - CDPR? They don't do that. Go back and look at the stuff they've given players of the previous Witcher games. For free.

It would be nice to see Bioware do the same for people who are buying the game for SP, but I wouldn't bother holding my breath. About as much of a chance of that as a snowball in hell.

Huh. Good for CD Projekt Red. Nice to see they care about their fans.

I'm still not buying the Witcher 3, though.

If I was taking a test, and I was presented with these two statements:

1. Hey, what does Bioware have planned for DLC?

And

2. The Witcher is releasing free DLC because they take care of their fans and they're a great company...so what is Bioware doing?

I would say those statements are not equivalent.

If you want to talk up the Witcher and slams Bioware, fine. Just don't back down when someone calls you on it. You said it, own it.

I like how they release '2' DLCs every week, why not call it 1 DLC every week? Oh yea, advertisement.

Anyways, BioWare got their own free DLCs for the multiplayer every now and then, and those are not cut into smaller pieces to make it sound like it is more than it actually is.

Although I must admit I am slightly annoyed by the mount you get from buying the strategy guide (which I won't, although I still would like the mount)

They didn't take it out. The dlc are not yet developed.(confirmed by a dev in their forun) as they are focussing on polishing the game and removing bugs at the moment. The game has to be finished a few weeks before release ( the game will have 100+ hours of content so they need to send copies to reviewers 2-3 weeks before the 24th February) and they will start to develop the dlc when the game is "ready to ship".

You're making assumptions because you're a fan of the devs.

If they are going to release DLC 1 day after the game launches, of course it's content that's left out just to be downloaded as a DLC.

It's small cosmetic additions/items that are stripped out of the game so that they can make this marketing tactic. All evidence points to it.

AND IT'S WORKING.Everyone's like "Yeah, CDPR so awesome, free DLC!"

Bribing gaming magazines for positive reviews shouldn't cost that much.

There's really only 2 possibilities here.

Either 1, they have taken content out of the game to give back as free "DLC" to make themselves look good(which you seem to believe them incapable of doing)

Or 2, the DLC are going to be so insignificant that they are capable of making two of them in a week. Which doesn't impress me.

Dear lord, Slogbarg... Again?

I was worrying what has become of you. I believe a whole day went by without some thread of yours.
