I have a lot of respect for CD Projekt but this free DLC thing is bulls*it. I mean, just look at those DLC's. Ugly armor for Geralt, alternative look for Yenn. The game isn't even out yet, there's nothing from stopping them to include this in game now.

Oh look, this dlc is clearly very deep: including: Hair and beard options. Armor. An alternate appearance. And some random 'kill x stuff' mission.

Better pull out your wallet for this deep DLC.
My respect for CDPR. Whether they spread the DLC out a bit or not, free is free and I love free. It's certainly better than most of Bioware's recent DLC's practices. I hope CDPR's example can bring about more positive change in that regard. I suspect they may have influenced Bioware's decision to not make story-heavy day-one DLC for DAI this time. A welcome change.

The worst part about this is the fact that the blurb isn't even accurate. Hawke's mother clearly didn't abandon her privilege; she was still a white cis hetero.

bioware doesnt need to give you free single player DLC as they have made a game that requires about 160 hours to beat, where are CD Projeckt made a game that only requires 105 with side quest.

FFS, Bioware points still? I thought they moved past that ****.

Hopefully they can get the Adventures of Geralt of Riverland-Favorite-Contender-For-Most-Dreadful-Protagonist-In-Fiction-Competition out of the way so they can get on with Cyberpunk. Good for them though -- It's always nice to see the occasional developer who refuses to adhere to shameless practices of the modern age right up until the inevitable point where they'll sell out that integrity and we can move on to someone else. But let's hope not.

What? I have never played a BW game that took me longer than 40 hours to beat.

I believe they have. Those pictures are from Dragon Age 2 stuff.

unless your psychic and can skip dialog and dont do anything but the main quest, and only equip what you find im not sure thats happening this time around. Then again if it only took you 40 hours to be DAO then im assuming most of my questions have already been answered.

they dont use bioware points yes, but any future DLC besides the multiplayer stuff will likely cost real money.

Even if my initial playthrough took me more time (it's probably still somewhere around 55-65 hours at most) 160 hours for DAO or really any BW game is just ridiculous.

In general I'd be hesitant to believe the 160 hours number, as pretty much every time a developer has noted how much time something will take I'm able to manage it in less.
Especially after the first playthrough when I know where everything is already.

DAI is supposedly a very big game and you'll never be able to do everything in one play through as certain events can only be done if you do B instead of A, with the consequence being that A is locked off forever.

Does the free dlc compete with paid dlc like OWB, Citadel, Legacy ect?
Free means nothing if the quality is low. CDP is making it free because they know people would complain about such things having a price.

I actually thought we were talking about DAO. I haven't been following the news around DA:I and I have yet to play it but we will see I suppose.
I'm very doubtfull that either TW3 or DAI will take that long to complete though, developers tend to exaggerate when they say that their game will take x hours to complete. I hope I'm wrong of course.

While it is true that Bioware has already announced that the most beloved of their fans are the ones who play on Xbox One
