I wonder if this is in the cards. I for one would love to listen to the music in preparation for the game's release. Am I alone in this?
Earlier release of OST?

I asked it before, but it seems to be just at release, for the moment.

I just checked I tunes and it's up for pre order. That said it has 39 tracks. I would not check the name of the tracks if you want to avoid spoilers.
Huh, just the American one? it isn't on the UK one :'(
I have the Deluxe edition, though, so I get the OST in that.

Oh, so they've confirmed this won't be the case then?

There's nothing really that spoilery. It's not as if there's a track called, 'The Inquisitor Dies.' ![]()

I hope so as well.
Though, if it's handled through the BSN, we'll probably get a code or something with the game...

I believe some info was uncovered about a week ago (along with the tracklisting) that indicated the album would be released on November 17th on spotify at least... so you have at least one day to listen up on it before you play the game (if you live in the US) ![]()

I really don't like to listen to OST-s out of context before I play my games.
I think the first impression is very important and you should experience it as it was mean to be experienced. With the game.
When you hear certain music for the first time with this and that emotional scene I think it has way more impact than the music you already listened to a hundred times previously. ![]()
But yeah I don't have any problem listening to that OST after I play the game. ![]()

I agree and that's precisely why I want to listen to the OST before, so I can see whether I like the music for the music itself or because of the memories/scenes I associate with it.

So apparently we get to listen to the OST with the preload? Cool! ![]()
I'm still preloading so I can't confirm but I will do so when it's done.
EDIT: Shouldn't this be moved to the No Spoilers version of Scuttlebutt? ![]()

When I did the pre-load today, the OST was already on my computer and I could listen to the music. I don't know if that is SUPPOSED to happen, but the MP3 files are there.

I my best, or worst, impersonation of Bill and Ted "EXCELLENT!!" ![]()
Some of the music, IMHO, is reminiscent of Basil Poledouris

OST is 1 GB?!?! ![]()
Okay, 981.02 MB, but still. What is this, FLAC?
EDIT: Nope, it's .wav. FLAC would've been even larger.

We have given you the music straight from the composer. This allows you to convert or compress it into whatever format works best for you. We had talked about using a number of formats, but in the end, we felt that wave gives you more choice.
Glad you are enjoying it!

It's awesome! I didn't think we'd be able to listen to the OST till release. Thanks and pass my thanks on to the composer if possible! ![]()

39 tracks eh?
Many games have given a soundtrack with collectors editions. Some people assume that the soundtrack is always the full soundtrack, but sometimes it is 12 tracks from the soundtrack leaving people to buy the others. It will be interesting to see what BioWare do on the Deluxe Edition.

It's so gorgeous! I can't wait to hear it all in within the context of the game but just I just finished listening to it and this soundtrack is outstanding.
