It has. Even thought I have nothing, nothing, nothing against LGBT people, I don't do this kind of romances in games. 

If there is going to be some kind of mod to romance Sera as male character I am going to use it.

If people don't want to do gay romances and want to use mods to change it let them.  I can't romance any men shorter then me.  (Zevran/HumanMage/Cousland) I just can't.  Who cares what people preferences are?  If you're into gay romances awesome, if you're not awesome.  If you really want to reskin characters to different races because of some tick you have: rock on.  It's no skin off my back. I have to agree with this.  Preferences are what they are.  It's not racist to prefer redheads over blondes or beards over clean shaven.  I didn't care for the "pale skinned Isabela mods" more for lore reasons, but if that's what people wanted to do, I didn't take offense from it.  It's their game, they were free to use them.  No one was pushing their agenda on me.

If someone wanted to mod a LI to a hirsute troglodyte because hirsute troglodytes rock their world, more power to them.  Who were they hurting?

Personaly i havent made my mind up. i havent played second 1 of the game. sure im not sure about her aethsteticaly but thats just looks. there have been tones of games where i didnt likr the look of someone who rocked. 

but the same could be said for Iron Bull and his MC Hammer paracute pants.

Eh from what I've seen i don't really like her personality. She just seems very cocky and arrogant. And her "sass" isn't the funny kind like Varric's, it seems more like shes a Diva. Ill hold out until the main game, but if she acts how I think she will, Im gonna do everything in my power to kill/kick her out of the inquisition. Besides, she wears horns. Its gonna make me feel like she is trying to be a Qunari, and there only room for my inquisitor and Iron Bull in this inquisition.

actually there would. male/female hormones have different effects on people and their personality. for example: getting testosterone shots can make people aggressive, abrasive and outright annoying.

I really find it unfortunate that some individuals are pointing out racism where there is none. Especially makes it difficult when they bring in other examples from elsewhere that have nothing to do with this thread just to prove a point. That being said, that particular comment equating Vivienne to Nicki Minaj sadly was very racist. I kinda like seeing someone actually defend Niki even if I can't stand her personally. Not easy to stand by an unpopular opinion. Kudos.

 

I know it's off-topic, but let me just say a little something in regards to the race issue that has sprung up. The comments I've seen over-simplify the issues of racism people have raised here. I don't think it's fair to assume racism when people use the term "sassy" to describe Vivienne. It sure ain't accurate, but different people may attach different meanings to the word. While it may indeed spring forth from the "sassy black woman" stereotype, you don't know that it does. It could just be the result of poor vocabulary. People all have preferences. It's racist when your particular preference has been colored by racism but isn't when your preferences haven't been. Racism depends not just on one's actions but on their context as well. Before you cry "racist", try and determine first where people are coming from. It could just be a misunderstanding. As per the accused, It's always a good idea to take a step back and ponder, "Why do I feel this way?" If racism is to end, we must foremost be able and willing to acknowledge it in ourselves and address our own personal demons. In the meantime, it's not always possible to determine if the preferences of individuals in this thread and elsewhere have been colored in such a way. Please, try not to jump to conclusions. It's okay to point it out if something offends you, but there is no need to be accusatory. Please be polite, clarify and don't just sit there and try to insist that people are making excuses. For how can you really know for certain that is the case?

 

As per people's thoughts on Vivienne, I've seen some  people here try to state that many of us are forming our opinion of her prematurely. The argument is that there isn't enough information to go on for people to hate her. That is not true. Many fans get very heavily invested in the series. They have very strong feelings about certain factions, events, and individuals that we have previously encountered. For these people, Vivienne's alliances may very well be reason enough to loathe her. After all, she is pro Circle and many detest the Circle.

Yes, there is something about her that rubs me the wrong way. I really don't like her. Maybe when I meet her in game I will change my mind, but, taking her views on mage freedom into account, I highly doubt it.
