That is BS.

So you have to pay extra to preload, that would ****** me off to no end.

It seems people are starting to get the preload dates. Maybe enough people complained about it and they decided to cave in haha

Really? So the people that pay extra get to go first even though we all preordered. Let me guess you have the digital deluxe on preorder. If you do REALLY REALLY STFU! Because that would be the most idiotic hypocrisy I've seen given that you are not affected.

As long as both can preload before the game is released, who gives a **** who goes first?

Maybe they're still on AOL dialup and they need a head start.

As long as both are preloaded before the game is released, does it matter? It's not like those with Digital Deluxe will get to play it on the 15th because it's preloaded while those with standard are screwed out. We all have it unlock on the same day, same time. Preload date is not a huge deal, as long as everyone has the time to download it before release.

Just preordered the standard edition 15 minutes ago. It showed me the preload date 17th immediately (14th using a vpn client and connecting to a south korean server). Maybe it has something to with the region/game version? I preordered the german version of the game.

I dont think it has anything to do with version. Probably lazyness from their part.

So uh... What is preload? Does it mean the preloading of your world state using the Keep?

Preload means "Download" the game few days before the release.... And when the release day hits, you can play it immediately. (Atleast what she/he meant)

Would you even have enough time to download the game at 4kb/s if you started today?

I checked today, and it finally shows the preload date. I have the standard edition preordered. My preload date is the 14th.

Still no change here. <_<

Chill Pills.

Invest.

Yeah, that was a rash reaction on his/her part but let's not kid ourselves here, EA *are* money-grubbing bastards of the worst kind. I am, however, willing to wait and see how this pans out before I start accusing them of screwing me over *again* (when it comes to EA, I'm waaaaay past the 'shame on me' part of the proverb about fooling).

Oh, that's all? And here I was thinking this might actually be important news...

Well, it's important if you want to play the game as soon as possible. Sometimes transferring a game can take hours, so preloading is important to impatient people like myself.  :P

It did have to do with the version, because everyone who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition can see the dates since day one and everyone who pre-ordered the Standard Edition could not. Only yesterday they started to get the dates showing up. I'm not sure what was their reason behind this, but the EA employee I talked to said that the Deluxe Edition would preload first and they didn't even know if Standard would be able to preload at all. Apparently they changed their minds. That or the employee didn't have a clue what he was saying. But everytime he gave me an information he would take a long time to reply and always said "I just checked and...." so yeah. Don't know.

Uhm, i meant as "language" version... Region etc; Not the content version.  (My bad for not being clear about it >_>  )

Oh, sorry, I should have looked better at what you quoted lol But still, it's too much of a coincidence that every Deluxe Edition had the dates while Standard did not. But anyway, it seems it's being sorted out, hopefully everyone will have the dates up in a few days.  :)

The support employees don't seem to know much about the game at all. They told someone else that the $5 EA Access subscription granted unlimited access to the game without need for purchase, for instance.

There was no mind changing. Preloading simply doesn't begin for a week.

Really? So the people that pay extra get to go first even though we all preordered.

Why not?  People get to buy privileges all the time.

Is there an actual benefit to downloading first?  If you download today, but I download on Nov 14, but we both have to wait until Nov 18 to play, why should I begrudge you the early download?  What did you get that I didn't get, aside from perhaps some extra scheduling convenience?

Let me guess you have the digital deluxe on preorder. If you do REALLY REALLY STFU! Because that would be the most idiotic hypocrisy I've seen given that you are not affected.

I don't have the deluxe pre-ordered, no.

And hypocrisy never matters.

Op said that preload might not happen at all for standard edition.

There is also NO reason to have some be able to preload before others. We all paid for the game, didn't steal it. Treat us as customer not as second class because we we realized we are not going to be nickel and dimed and pay $10 extra (20% more) for some in game items. OOO a new armor, 1 out of 150 in game, a shiny throne or a new mount.

The point is the ability to preload at all, I can preload 2 hours before release because my internet is that fast.

In my Origin is just "coming soon". Part of the reason to PREorder is so you can PREload, it's the PRErogative I expect for giving them a sale upfront.
