Ubisoft pulls its new titles from Steam? (Update 07/11: Titles return!)

Well, at this point, I don't expect Valve to put out any video games this side of the Second Coming, so their corporate interests are in keeping consumers happy and getting as wide of a selection as humanly possible. EA and Ubisoft have the desire to be digital distributors, but also to sell their own games. While not a true conflict of interest, per se, it does put them in a position to have little competition on the digital distribution model if they only sell their games on their system.

It would be like if EA opened their own video game store to compete with retailers, but then wouldn't sell any EA games anywhere else but their stores. And could charge more for their own games with little competition or worry.

 

Please don't give them ideas...
