It's a fight club reference if you didn't get it. :D

Seriously though, Well, To some extent, Anita is right. But feminism isn't really about equality. And i do agree that society views gamers as some kind of angry nerds. Which is remarkably dumb. I haven't really paid much attention to the whole issue of GamerGate vs Anita to judge it more thoroughly.

I got the reference. Good film.

Anyway. I am disappointed in Anita Sarkeesian.

Sure I didn't agree with her 100% of the time, but she did open my eyes regarding how video games can be at times insulting to women.

So when I found out that she wasn't the video game enthusiast she claimed to be and that she had been lying, I was most displeased.

Also, I've learned that I may have finally latched onto an event with a Let's Play that won't die down before I lose interest.

still can't believe this **** is still happening.

Do I even want to know what "The Fappening" was?

I think that was when a nasty hacker got hold of some naked photos of celebrities that were not meant for public consumption and then exposed them to the world.

It was creepy, weird and not acceptable.

I have no idea what it has to do with Gamer-Gate.

Unless people believe that gamers and creepy nude obsessed stalkers are one and the same.

What do you think this "Gamer-gate" is really about?

Corruption in the video game industry?

Or about how deep our bigotry of women and minorities has become?

Because every feminist I've spoken to tells me that it's the latter and not the former.

How did an issue about corruption become about bigotry most specifically misogyny?

I think it's probably some of both. I doubt there will ever be enough money in gaming journalism for video game websites to hire actual professionals who will cover indie games impartially, rather than giving disproportionate coverage to games developed by their friends, but some gamergaters seem to think otherwise. With that said, gamergaters really seem to be weirdly obsessed with the likes of Anita Sarkeesian and other feminists. When I read Gamergate threads, there just seems to be a lot more time devoted to whining about the fact that SJWs exist than there is to discussing how corruption in game journalism can actually be fixed. Judging by the tone of the gamergate rhetoric I've read, they really seem to be propelled by a backlash against SJWs that has been building since #yesallwomen more than they are by the desire to fix ethics in journalism.

I'll admit that I found those emails proving the the collusion on the Gamers are Dead thing disturbing, but honestly, I don't think game journalists are paid enough for us to realistically expect better of them. As for the threats of violence, I don't take the argument that you can judge the character of either side by its threats of violence seriously. Everyone gets death threats online, from politicians to professional atheletes, and the only thing that's going to stop them is increased law enforcement.

I don't take most 'journalists' seriously, and I now see how spiteful and deluded these people are. It's also sad to see creative media being co-opted by political agendas.

Gamergate was a lot like the plot of a Deus Ex game, where it is you (JC Denton or Adam Jenson) versus massive conspiracies (SJWs) behind every corner.

Heroism.

That the video game journalism is corrupt, as if anyone was supposed to be surprised by that.

Is that video from GamerGate?

P.S: It's a really great video. Strong presentation of Feminism's contradictory ideology.
