Has dragon age games been well optimized for PC in the past?  I'm really not sure if I should get DA:I for ps4 or PC.  My PC set up is an i5 4670k, MSI GTX 770, 16GB corsair RAM, I dont have an SSD.  Thats the basics of my rig, my monitor is 1080p and so is my TV.  Do you think I'll see much of a graphical difference?

Also for multiplayer which platform of the two is most likely to have people on it?

-_-

You're kidding right? FB3 games have been always well optimised for PC, and your hardware blows the PS4 out of the water.

I'm actually not trolling, I'm asking because quite a few of the games i've gotten recently on PC have been kind of poorly optimized.  I also know that the new Nvidia cards came out recently and my card isn't even being sold anymore.  Though I didnt know ps4 was locked at 30 fps thats interesting.

Thanks for the response though.  Probably right I should just get it on PC.

Your card may not be sold any more but its still  high end your rig will run  any thing   1080p on high or ultra settings  60 to 90 fps

Considering your specs I'd go pc, it'll completely blow away the ps4's graphics.

I don't know what those numbers mean

But if you play a lot of games on the PC and your PC runs the game well I'd buy it on PC

and that's coming from someone who is getting it on the PS4

Thanks for the replies, I'm gonna just get it on PC I think.  The last game I tried to play on PC was wildstar and it scared me off of PC games quite a bit.  It was really laggy especially in towns.  I haven't really touched any bioware games on PC since neverwinter so I wasn't sure how their doing at optimization.  Thanks all

Either way you'll be stuck at 1080p with that monitor

DAI has built in downsampling.

Yes, the Dragon Age games have been really well optimized in the past (and Bioware's in general). You can tell by the minimum and maximum requirements (it scales well). I'd go for PC. Yours should run DAI better than on PS4.

As others mentioned above, the PS4 version would be a waste when you have such a powerful PC.

You can watch videos of people playing BF4 with GTX 770 to get an idea of how it will handle Inquisition. Even if your computer was weaker, the console UI can't quite handle the tactical camera properly IMO.

^^

I have a few things to add to this:

- PC, because controllers are quite clumsy (everyone can aquire targets faster, use tactical mode better etc. with mouse and keyboard)

- PC, because of potentially better graphics later on (when 4K becomes more widely used - they said it is supported!)

- PC, because you can play multi-monitor (or at least use a secondary screen to have google open (if you need to look something up))

- PC, because it's got better hardware (hell those "next gen" (I would call them "last gen"!) consoles are slower than my computer (that was build 2012...ok, so it was nearly top of the line back then and I have exchanged the graphics card last year -.- (calling them next gen is an insult IMHO))

greetings LAX

ps: I can understand using a console - if you don't have a relatively new PC (no older than 4 years I'd say)...and if you don't have the money to get one (a computer costs more - at least if you want something decent...even if you - like me - build it yourself from parts...though it's not extremely expensive...for about 800 Euro (in Germany) you get a very good system (that can last a few years - even longer if you switch out the graphics card after 2 years)...and if you have an old PC you can even re-use some components (hard-drives, optical-drives (note: call me old-fashioned, but a PC without optical drives is IMHO kind of useless)...) - but if you buy many games - like I do - the cost is is something you get back, bit by bit (console games are usually more expensive - even if they have the same content as the PC-Version!)

I LoL'd, but yeah really.  I had DA:O and DA2 on ps3, though now that I think about it I did play mass effect on PC and it ran just fine.

With that setup my guess is your question is rhetorical.  Otherwise if you've been without coffee for a week, PC.

The pc version SHOULD BE ALOT better than console version (better: texture, resolution, antialiasing, frame rate, various effects and so on...).

PC, always PC.

My laptop is overpowered as all hell. Far surpasses even the "recommended specs"

I'd suggest going with PC. Even though people are projecting slim chances for mods it wouldn't hurt to be on PC in case they do roll out. Also with your specs I think you'd be more than satisfied with graphics and performance. Either way enjoy it!
