Dont know if someone posted this already but anyways:

VIDEO TALKING POINTS SPOILER:

Pros:

Not much handholding in terms of lore, you are expected to know who does what.

Open World works well, it feels dynamic and there is always a surprice over the horizon.

the potion system makes things more intense.

Cons:

You are apparently trusted into the inquisition, rather than forming it.

Seems they are not that impressed with the combat overall.

The stalking quests from Mass effect 3 makes a comeback (oh i overheard you talking, here take these bear claws)

Fetch quests feels impersonal.

I saw most of those points coming. The pros and cons seem kind of scant though. There's probably a lot more in a deeper playthrough.

Yeah, I take everything those guys say with a grain of salt. Too many people reviewing currently that are coming into this game either with no knowledge of the Dragon Age setting, are still hung up over Baldur's Gate III never being made, or just got done with Skyrim and expect the same experience from DA:I.

It's not like the "stalking" quests really made any less sense than walking up to random strangers and asking them all their personal problems.

I saw that but there were so, SO many spoilers I was just jumping through the whole thing. Don't read if you don't want spoilers.

Unfortunately, it was apparently played by people who've never played a DA game, or people who've never adjusted tactics (if I were feeling like an @$$ I'd say 'read: people who've never played DA'), so they said nothing about that whole debacle.

No...not the stalking quests....

They're certainly better that DA ]['s "oh look here are these mouldy trousers, they must belong to a Dwarf in Lowtown."

They didn't mention "stalking quests" (where you overhear people and get a quest objective). They mentioned a quest where you find a letter that suggests bear hunting is a good idea. You then get an objective to kill some bears. Granted, it's not the most inspired quest design, but it's better than eavesdropping.

They aren't so much stalking quests. You aren't obligated to do them. As per your example, reading a letter and having it talk about bear claws isnt stalking someone, its a suggestion of something you can do, and left there as an option. You don't have to do it.

That's odd. I haven't read any other articles or watched any previews with anyone else mentioning any "overheard" style of quests like ME3.

If you listen to what he says, it's not stalking quests where you overhear bullshit. It's fetch quests with little reason. Like you hunt rams and kill mages for meat and supplies to keep the refugees from starving/freezing, or hunt down a group of mages and Templars about to have a major showdown because of a bloodfued between two brothers, which seems Allright. But then at one point you find a villagers note that essentially says "**** bears bears suck" and get a mission to retrieve bear claws from their corpses. So that's not so great.
But also: **** bears.

I watched their video, the two guys couldnt even figure out how to use the Tactical Cam properly.

thus their review stated that you could only pause and give orders, but not stay in Tac Cam. LoL  Baddies

That sounds fine to me for minor quests for extra XP. Honestly, those are optional, so I don't know why people freak out about them so much. I don't mind some sidequest filler, especially early on when it helps you level up. *shrug*

Between reviewers it does seem consistent that DA:I has a fair share of 'filler' fetch quests. This isn't too surprising though, DA:O and DA2 had them as well.

Stalker quests? Seriously? Hated those in ME3.

Possibly another rushed intro like DA2? <_< Hopefully they are exaggerating.

And creating a stand-alone topic for the impressions of one of the absolute worst gaming magazines out there, was necessary... why exactly?

But really, did anyone expect the game not to have inconsequential quests like these? They're a constant companion of RPGs, no matter the size of the game or its origin.

For actual gamers and fans to make fun of them while getting excited about a game we are looking forward to I guess? :)

Based on all the issues the reviewers have with combat, sounds like I will love it.
