Meh, since people are actually paying for a subscription to play it early, I don't care. I will never do such a thing personally. Waste of money if you ask me. That's just my opinion though. Think nothing of it.

$4.99 for a month of EA Access, which includes 10% discount on the game... so $6.99 off the game.

I only subbed for one month, I get the game for $2 cheaper, and I get to sample it for a few hours beforehand.

I don't see any waste. Infact, anyone with an Xbox One who is going to purchase on day one is silly for not doing it this way.

EA Access offers a payed demos which is a real shame on game industry. The whole purpose of demos is to help a customer to decide whether he wants to buy or not.

I have a few friends who would actually love to play some coop games with me. But they have no inerest in any DA-games. So, demo would helped them toi decide to buy a game. But assuming there is no demo - they won't spend their money. And that's the reason why i end up not playing coop at all.

EA access allows paid subscription access to certain FULL games from their library, and also grants early access to upcoming games and discounts when purchasing them.

It's not just paying to play demos. I believe there are six full games that are included with your subscription atm.

Just slightly of-topic but companies making people pay money to play test alpha and beta builds and implementing microtransactions in these early builds is a bigger shame then a limited release demo, as there was a time when the company would have paid you to do that.

I had forgotten about that, I partially retract what I said. Still, I'll miss the golden days of Demo's. Its not very often you get told your wrong and not be called a bad name on the internet, Thank you

And you're really polite and courteous yourself. The internet needs more people like you. :)

I have an xbox one and EA Access for the demo.

However, I would have preferred a free CC demo available on all platforms.

I just want to perfect my Inquisitor's look and play the game on release date so I'm not stopped mid-flow after 6 hours.
I imagine that's something most people would have been satisfied with.

Though I appreciate spoilers would be coming out in full force if that were the case.

It's dumb, just like the release dates for different places.

There's a reason for that, but I don't recall what it was off the top of my head.

So i get the EA Access thingie, 4 days before release i get a chance to play 6h of the game i've been waiting eagerly since the day it was announced.... Then the 6h are up, i look at the calendar/watch and now after tasting it i have to deprive myself of it for 4 more days. Bang head on the wall, fall unconscious, hopes i wake up on the release day....

Nah, no thank you. Rather wait for the release date and play all i want with no restrictions. Those 6h would probably be a blast, but after playing them be locked out of the game till release... I dont need that stress!!!! :P

Actually to me releasing a game on Friday makes more sense than Tuesday since I have the weekend to actually enjoy the game. I live in Europe and clearly remember when they worldwide released a game (generally on Tuesday) that game was sitting untouched close to my console till Friday evening because work siphoned all my energies during the week. I would be in favour on an unified Friday release tbh. Guess a lot of people have much more free time to spend that I do......

I don't care for it. A single week more will not hurt me so it is trivial.

I find it sad that this will cause so many to bleed more money to EA. And it gives me pause as to why they'd do this opposed to product e DLC at a high quality that will for sure sell due to people loving the game... Concerns...

PS: it isn't a demo if you need to pay for it. This liberal stance on what a demo is or isn't is humerous.

Dear Bioware,

I am part of the PC Master Race - this outrages me that some measly console peasants get a demo before me.  Obviously I have money because I own a PC... money that "could" be yours Bioware - money that could be in your pockets right now, while I enjoy the luxuries duly afforded a being of my supreme status.

You will be hearing from representatives who represent with great representation about things represented by representatives concerning specific representation.

That is all,

EA Access is a gaming version of Netflix. You pay a subscription and get to play a selection of EA games during the length of your subscription. That is the main point of EA Access. The Account does come with a few perks though. You get 10% off the price of digital downloaded EA games and the chance to play their games early.

They are not charging people to play demos. They are giving their subscribers the chance to play their games early for a timed period. This is just a perk of being a member it is not the purpose of EA Access, EA Access will still be going after DA:I is released. I will still be a member of EA Access after the trial period is up because the service is extremely good value for money IMHO.

Honestly, it would kill me to play 6 hours of the game and then have to stop until it was officially released. Think I'd prefer to wait for unfettered access.

The game is a demo and yes I hate that it is only available to people who gave EA $5.00 and own an Xbone.

Demos used to be given out for free and were part of the marketing behind the game.

Yeah, it's pretty lame.

Though I'm sure they'll add a demo for everyone post-release.

I've never played a demo that let me wander around a massive portion of the game and do whatever I wanted for 6 hours, nor did any demo allow me to import my save and carry on from that point upon release. They list it as a trial, and for the majority of the people who subscribe to EAA, they do so to play the games in the Vault for a monthly fee instead of buying those games (like Netflix for EA games). The early access stuff is just seen as a side benefit and not the main reason for a subscription.

Then you haven't played very many demos. You used to get the occasional demo that was exactly this. Actually a few of the more recent demos have been this. So the fact they just time restrict access to the full game doesn't make it any less a demo. The point is that it is a restricted version of the full game. How that restriction operates, time or content or both or something else, is irrelevant.

To be fair I doubt its Bioware actively pushing this, seems like are doing it at the command of EA. But yeah I agree especially when the service is only for Xbone, its not like anyone else wanted to try out the game before buying or anything <_<

Not gonna lie but, I'm passing on the Xbox One DA:I and EA Access gig, so I'm switching over to the PS4...that's right I said it! I want mah 1080p dammit! Especially for this game! I want it to look buttery smooth!

That and the whole 6 hour trial thing doesn't make sense to me for this kind of game, I'm gonna be spending at least an hour of it on character creation alone...

So yeah...I need friends..add me... PSNID: TheKuses

On the plus side you get10% off any games that are from ea (includes dai) and play certain ea game (that are on the vault for free)

I think it amusing:

Should we be annoyed that only those on Xbox one get access to a "demo"...or annoyed on their behalf for them having to pay for a subscription service offering them a demo of a game they've already ordered?

In the end, it's just silly promotional stuff, it can't be a demo of the game, since you've already ordered it. It's just...I don't know, an appetizer?

Silly, but I'm sure they appreciate getting something out of paying for EA access.

I think it´s a clever practice, but I would charge an extra fee for titles like DA:I. Because I know there a lot of people who would pay the extra buck.
