Gaspard no mack mod- removes his mask.

Grand Duke Gaspard de Chalons is the leade of the Chevaliers and one of the main character from Masked Empire.

Gaspard de Chalons was married to Lady Calienne, who killed Celene I’s mother by arranging for "a hunting accident." Her father, Prince Reynaud, killed Calienne in retaliation, and then died himself of "illness" caused by Calienne's poisoned stiletto.

After doubting that Celene I’s diplomatic approach to the mage problem or the elven uprisings has any chance in keeping Orlais safe, Gaspard becomes disillusioned with the empress's rule and believes it is time for a new leader to make Orlais strong again. He decides to challenge Celene for the throne, sparking the Orlesian Civil War.

Only condition to make him Emperor is let Celene die. If he rules alone then he desides to invade into Ferelden. If you don't want him to do it then you have complete mission at War table.

What happens if he rules alone

The bromantic moment at the end of Masked Empire sealed the deal for me.

He is one on 2 my favorite characters. He shows what Chevaliers really are insted of those comical relief characters we've seen before.

Gaspard de Chalons

I found his character in TME to be the most interesting easily.
Though I don't agree with alot of his plans (from what we know of them) will work and I feel they're actually more likely to blow up in his face tbh.
I certainly don't get the Tywin Lannister comparisons
But imo he is smarter than his opposition, And I will most likely be supporting him come DAI (Unless Celene has a really really awesome Chancellor running the show but I doubt it)

I find myself supporting the Emperor Gaspard than the false Empress. He's a soldier and Orlais is the most powerful nation in Thedas because of the Chevaliers. Also, he's less likely to betray us than the other one. He and my Human Mage will get along splendidly. I think that he can be summarized in the following. "War does not determine who is right or wrong. War determines who is the strongest." Considering he's head of the Chevaliers, this man knows war.

Emperor Gaspard for the win. I haven't met the man but I've already decided on supporting him just from reading the book. He is a honourable breath of fresh air among all the liars and backstabbers. This guy at least has the decency to stab you straight in the face, and if he does you probably deserved it.

And a vicious ultranationalist brute who's a threat to the rest of Thedas. For me, honor means little to nothing without compassion.

That's pretty ironic for you to say, actually.

Anyway, I'll definitely be supporting Gaspard over Celene any day. Orlais will need a strong ruler in the coming years, and she's already proved that she can barely think for herself, let alone an entire country.

Why would a strong leader for Orlais be good for anyone outside of Orlais?

I much prefer Celene for the throne than Gaspard. That aside I think he is an excellent character and I'm excited to meet him in-game.

Because who else is going to fight off the Qunari?

To be honest I don't really want to, I like the Qunari.

Tevinter for starters. They held out for a very long time the last time, until the rest of Thedas swung into gear. And the next game will very likely be set in Thedas' north, so we'll probably be seeing Tevinter through its defense.

A much more important question is: why should that matter?

Because the Inquisition isn't an Orlesian institution, but one that exists for the world.

Same here, I just feel that Celene will come back more brutal and hardcore after the events of TME.

The Inquisition exists to black ops the Chantry, nothing more.

After Orlais's civil war, breach and mage/templar war, and after Nevarra has its civil war when Markus dies. My answer would have to be: Beats the hell outa' me
...Nobody?

The Chantry disavowed it. I feel like I can take the Inquisition in whatever direction I want so long as it stops the Breach, thanks.

Ha, you go on believing that. Believe your borrowed and ragtag army can actually do anything on its own. Obviously you don't know Ramza Beoulve.
