You know o.o
Gaspard should come collect his sister someday.
She's stinking up the place.
They couldn't even bother to throw in some mint or some air freshener. @.@

Objectives can always change, and the Inquisition can find a new leader to replace Celene to prevent Orlais from falling apart.
I know, I just was playing the Messiah.
I'm one of the few people who actually played the Herald as, "Yeah, I'm the Chosen One. Praise Maker."
Then again, playing the Life of Brian is pretty hard to pass up.
Still, it's hard to play, "I hate Empress Celene so much for the purging of an Alienage that I flat out want her to die."
I also feel bad for Gaspard as him being a puppet ruler is probably his own personal hell.

I have seen quite a number of people who actually embrace being Herald of Andraste whether because their character genuinely believe in the Maker, or because their character has ulterior motive is unknown. You can always add another side to your own character, one advantage the Inquisitor shared with the Warden is that their background is not defined therefor you're able to add many things for your own character. It's easier to roleplay as the Warden or the Inquisitor. You could try finding reasons to justify your action for not intervene when Florianne try to assassinate Celene.
I was playing as political savvy Inquisitor who has a significance amount of knowledge about politics in Orlais, so my reason to choose Gaspard is justified, and my Inquisitor simply discards Celene because she's weak, untrustworthy and discard Briala because she'll use the Inquisition. My Inquisitor finds Gaspard the most suitable ruler to handle the current situation, and I find him easier to control.
True, though when I do the Keep, I'm going to probably do an alliance between the three.
They needed a line from KOTOR for this.
The one from the Sith Temple when you betray your Sith tutor and her instructor.
"You're ALL scum."

Heh, I think Vivienne is pointing out flawlessly about Orlesian nobles and their masks. Many of them are nothing more than scum hiding behind the mask. Some of them will pretend to be friendly, smiling to you, but they always hold their dagger behind their back, ready to stab you. I don't think blackmailing these three to work together would turn out good for Orlais. It's best for the Inquisition, however in truth it's the only option you need in case you wish to ruin Orlais in the long term as these three will wage war of intrigue instead.

Yeah, any good will I had to Briala was obliterated not only by murdering HER childhood friend but the realization that she could get back with Celene.
They're the same.
Only one's got pointy ears and the other is a Targaryen.

Wait, am I the only here who got the option to put Gaspard on the throne and have Briala executed?

Welcome to Orlais, the Lion's den, the Viper's nest.

Did you even read my previous post about me allowing Florianne to assassinate Celene, and Briala executed. Pretty sure many of us in this thread went with that direction as well. ![]()

I apologize for my daftness. ![]()
I've tried to remove Gaspard's mask. Yes you can see it too now.
I am just walking around and climb the F-bomb.
I've no idea what's happened.

Gaspard: Emperor of Orlais, Emperor of your heart.
Definitely.
I don't think it is wise choice to force him to reunite with Celene. He is determinator- soon he rise up again.
I like that idea...and I've wanted this since they announce DAI and hasn't revealed most companions.
I was utterly Shocked by the results of picking Gaspard. I fully intended to chose him from the start because I figured If I'm in a war for the fate of Thedas I wanted my most important ally to be a person of his word who actually knew how to conduct a war. (Celene was a backstabbing politician, I just cant bring myself to ever support her).
Heres the shocking part, I ASSUMED Celene would be Biowares "Choice" as in, best ending would have something to do with her in charge. I was so pleasantly surprised to see in the credits that Gaspard brought Stability and was a staunch ally to the inquisition, that and him funneling Orlesian aggression outwards at TEvinter and possibly the Qunari was fantastic.
I really liked how Bioware made him an excellent choice as long as you finished 1 wartable mission

I think part of what makes it so enjoyable is that everyone assumed Celene would be the Bhelen but it turns out she's the Harrowmount.
What are you talking about? You have different version of the game- best endings with Gaspard.

Funny how the Celene and Briala reconciled ending mentions Orlais entering a new golden age or Orlais prospering if Gaspard and Briala are executed.

You assume it's infinitely better than "Strength and stability are restored to Orlais" when Gaspard rules alone, while it could be the same thing. You Celene supporter doesn't know when to quit don't you? You're trying too hard to make Celene look better, and try too hard to convince people to support Celene.
Just thought up the a great idea for a play-through:
Start out as a Elf Inquisitor, let Celene die cause she burned down an Alienage, discredit Briala with her dirt and get her executed so that I am the only Elf other elves look up too, then I'm left with Emperor Gaspard who has to deal with the fact that this 'rabbit' is the reason he's on the throne and (headcanon) begin a less controversial process of improving the lives of Elves in Orlais with the alliance with Gaspard.
edit:
Also, can you still get Gaspard to make peace with Fereldan with Anora as sole ruler?
Yes. There is war table mission.

That's pretty much how I played it. He seemed to be on very good terms with my elfquisitor after I made him a sole ruler, so I figured that, with some nudging, he would at least make the elves' lives more bearable. Briala's reforms are a disaster waiting to happen.
I loved Gaspard, but being his buddy as an elven inquisitor was a bit awkward. When he said that elves had no business in politics or when he called Briala "rabbit", I was like "I'm standing right here!"
And yes, you can make peace with Ferelden with Anora.
Does anyone have an link to the video of the epilogue slide were you convince an truce? I was contemplating it, but if Celene comes on top at the end, then I think I will just have Gaspard ruling alone instead.
So wait you can keep him from not invading Ferelden??
