Unfortunately, I noticed a lack of detail to attention concerning Gaspard. He is carrying a dagger on his costume. Isn't it extremely bad manners / illegal / flat out hostile to bring a dagger to peace talks being held at a ball?

 

And another thing to note... With the future we saw at Redcliffe, despite being a famed war general, even he can't protect Orlais after Celene falls. I assume he becomes emperor after Celene is assassinated by Florianne... And even though Florianne tried to implicate him, he still gets the throne. It turns out he wasn't that great after all...

In case you can't tell, I support Celene and Briala more than him. But I think its awesome Bioware managed to get some people to like him, characters are better when they're varied.

No he doesn't become Emperor, Floriannes plan suceeds and she pins Celenes death on Gaspard. The council of Heralds use this as a reason to deny him the throne once again and so Orlais falls to a combination of infighting and the demonic invasion.

but the way you try to needle Gaspard every time as if Celene is flawless, best leader Thedas has ever had. You have to be very bias to accomplish that. I suppose you people simply have nothing better to do.

 

Anyone who thinks Celene is the best leader thedas ever had is clearly deluding themselves. Heck even the best current ruler of thedas is far to much of a stretch.

I loved to hate Gaspard in TME

 

I personally think Gaspard is an evil fool with his false sense of honor.He is arrogant and thinks that everything he does is honorable, and if not, would lead to more honorable times.He is a racist, elitist and a hypocrite who is convinced his "code of morality" is pure and just.He does abide by his code of honor, but it is stupid, unfair and limits his actions in strange, questionable ways.His code of honor teaches him to respect only certain types of people, to cherish the lives of only certain types of people and to care for only certain types of people.He is cruel, racist, ruthless and his actions are borderline evil, I don't give a flying freck if he "fights with the code of the chevaliers" and respects his vows or whatnot, when he is such a horrible, horrible man on so many different layers.Him holding the code of the chevaliers dear to his heart does not justify his other actions

 

That is my point of view, anyhow.

You may disagree with his ideas for Orlais's future, but when the man refuses to allow torture, was willing to marry Celene and avoid the entire war, kills an ally of his for breaking a truce, you cannot say he is evil.

 

He can play the game well enough to throw Celene firmly off her game and make stupid decisions.

I am with you Gaspard supporters! Gaspard is my favourite character in Masked Empire and DA : Inquisition. I hope we will see him more in next DA, but i doubt it.

Gaspard, Is the best leader for Orlais If Celene, rules orlais falls so does Ferelden. Ferelden Is weak It needs to be annexed If not Tevinter will be rekting all of thedas and rebuild there empire. It's like this If Orlais falls tevinter rises

He does become Emperor, It says It at the end he leads a the Empire the council has no right keeping him from the throne It's his by Right.

 No... He does not become Emperor if there is no Inquisitor. If Inquisitor is thrown out of the Winter Palace we can see in epilogue that Florianne's  plan worked and Gaspard is accused of treason : "Hours after you were evicted from the Winter Palace, news spread across the land that Empress Celene was dead and Grand Duke Gaspard standing accused of treason. Orlais stood leaderless; in the chaos, Corypheus conquered it all too easily, overwhelming Inquisition forces lacking the allies needed to stop him". I think you didn't understand what Augustei wrote, because I see that you are supporting Gaspard.
