Right, he'd just bring along a few hundred Chevaliers, "prove they're better than diplomacy" as he says, and then they can stab you in the back. With swords, like real gentlemen.
Oh, not really. I think if he really set out to and then succeeded in bringing down the Inquisition, he'd give the Inquisitor a very civilized execution. There would probably even be a good meal and a bottle of Celestine black to ease the tension of the evening before.
Gaspard is loyal to his own standards of honor and fair dealing, I'll give him that much credit.
Better that than Celene or Briala humiliating the Inquisitor in the court where every Orlesian nobles can witness, or poison in the Inquisitor's food or drinks. As if Celene or Briala is incapable of having a few hundred Chevaliers or their personal thugs to kill the Inquisitor outright. What can I say, Orlesian politics are vicious and these two ladies are fierce when it comes to their own power or agenda. As far as I know both Celene and Briala is far from being an innocent and helpless bird.
A true gentlemen style eh? What you just describe remind me of Pagan Ming. A good meal and civilized talk. I'm not sure if Celene or Briala will give the Inquisitor the same very civilized execution, but I doubt these three is going to turn against the Inquisition, let alone has the courage to do so anytime soon. I do believe that if partnership with the Inquisition benefit both parties they all will cling onto it.
Thank you, you're right. But don't mind me, Lady Arti. I'm just expressing my opinion why I like him more than Celene and Briala. I'm not planning to convince anyone or shove my opinion down to people's throat. Well, I respect people right to their own opinion and belief.
