Will I be able to copy over my choices from previous games if I've upgraded my system?

I want to play ME3, but I've heard a lot of talk about how the choices you made in ME1 and 2 greatly change how much you enjoy ME3.

I played through both ME1 and 2 on an older computer, but I've since upgraded.  How can I import my old choices? Or will I have to use a default world state?

You need your old save files....... you did back up your saves right?

Bascially ME2 will look in the Mass Effect 1 folder for saves located in My Documents and ask you will save to import when starting a new game.

ME3 will look your Mass effect 2 folder in My Documents when starting a new game.

Yep, you'll need those old save files from your old computer. They are located in your Documents folder.  (C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\BioWare  <- They will be in there!).

Did you play ME1 and ME2 from Origin installs? ME2 was recently patched to use cloud storage, so if you install and play them on your new machine, your saves will download. If the installs were from regular disc installs, then as others have said you have to copy over the save files.

I would think not since DAI had to get a choice editor in the Keep

Ugh... that sucks.  No I didn't back up my old saves.  My old computer basically died, so I didn't have the chance to get anything off of it.  I did get ME2 from Origin downloads though... so maybe all is not lost.

All is not lost if the hard disk and data from the old computer is salvageable! ... Assuming your hard disk is removable and... you know... still works :P
