why do i keep coming back here and teasing myself... reading posts about review copies people have already received and its only going to get worse, when stories of people finding broken street date versions in mum n pop stores, or deliveries being delivered early...
i just drive myself mad and i NEVER end up getting a bioware game (bioware is my fave games all time, hands down, bar none, excruciatingly so) early, but i still work myself up over it, lol...
the worst was when Mass Effect came out, it was VERY similar to DAI insofar as it seemed to be gold for a LONG time and copies were in stories like weeks early.
so i actually went looking in TWO DIFFERENT STATES for a copy of ME1 on any shelf in many different stores. it was my mum and my gal looking with me in PA, no luck all day, then on the way back home to ohio we decided to hit up a kmart i had no faith at this point, even though the street date had been broken and many were already playing it.
LO AND BEHOLD THERE WAS A COPY OF ME1 on the shelf and i about had an aneurysm, i was shaking, i was spazzing so much.... and YES i'm an "adult", don't bother asking, but notice the quotes, i'm a full blown man child, 1 step away from mommies basement... or one flew over the circles nest...
so anyways there's two younger guys working 2 isles over and i barely mumble "i'd like to get a game out of the glass case to purchase please..." the guy seemed nice and walks over with the keys and then the other guy follows, oh god why did he follow...
"what game would you like?" said the nice young man.
again i trembled and barely quiffed the words from my mouth, "mass effect please"...
the other guy that had followed, like a drunk and stumbling elephant with an elephant sized digital **** block said, "oh mass effect is out already?????"
my taint quivered, and i wryly spoke, "yeah?"...
and then the first guy said, "oh is it not supposed to be for sale yet?"
and the other spoke the words that slayed me like a teenage girl at a beetles concert, "i don't think so".
so we take the game up to the counter, and, already boring, long story shorter-ish, wound up not being able to buy the game.
how absurd. it was on the shelf!!!! that was the closest i ever came to buying one of my all time fave games early. and man those extra days waiting were rough. i just feel this way about every bioware game though. i've always been an RPG fan, and with the mix of biowares character and story driven RPG nature, its a perfect combo for me.
so, yeah, wee, 11 more days........................
