The whole point of an example is that it illustrates the same concept - which I think we agree that Pinocchio does for ME3 even if we don't for 2. You didn't just pick it as an entirely arbitrary label after all.

When it comes to AI whilst it's true that we don't have much of a clue how to begin creating it at the moment the point is that there's no fundamental theoretical barrier to it.

Seriously, enough of this nonsence already. You just pretend that you didn't understand what I meant. The parallels should be clear for everyone to see who's smart enough to count to ten. I'm really done with this before you drag me into the next nonsense discussion about what an example should be.

You didn't even understand your own analogy and you're just squirming ridiculously to try to save face. Pinocchio was a decent analogy for the geth in ME3, not in ME2, and continually trying to wriggle around that is just making you look silly.

I don't know what you're talking about and I don't care.

It's not at all difficult.

If you don't care then don't reply.

And a Salarian who isn't just a scientist! Loved Mordin, but I'd like to see a Salarain who's a soldier at heart.

Kirrahe? He would've been a fun squad member.

I want a salarian infiltrator that will cloak on the battlefield and sabotage my enemies.

Either he or Jondum Bau.

Anyway, you have to remember that Mordin, a former STG operative, isn't "just a scientist".

Jondum Bau, the guy who can't walk 5 feet to get to the Spectre office but needs Shepard to do it for him?

He's also the guy who couldn't take out a single human mook. Some Spectre he is.

Yeah I know, but he was nerdy and sounded very intellectual. I'm not saying I want a ****** grunt kind of Salarian, just more like a Shepard or a James Vega if they were Salarian. Maybe a Salarian who is a gun-nut.

I'm now picturing a weapons expert salarian that maintains the armory on my ship, and and shares Fortack's love of real ground-pounders, and I like it.

Yeah, the guy who solicits Shepard's help in the open, and who took out someone after his attempt to block the upload was interrupted.

Now it's gonna be like Halo. I'm so disappointed...

Given how low ME3 stooped, this would actually be a good thing.

Reading the link in the OP. So...Mac Walters got promoted for what he did in ME3?  :o

Or was that all Casey Hudson's fault? Walter's solo works aren't exactly inspiring confidence. One can only hope that he's a better creative director than lead writer.

Also, more "Hero's Journey" stuff? I guess it will have to be in a video game. I wonder if they'll try to give an interesting spin to the theme, or if the experience with their last "interesting spin" will make them stick to the safe and boring.

So they didn't lie, the game is not going to be called ME4. :P

Bioware if you re-release ME trilogy, than i want that armor for the Xone version as bonus content.

As creative director he will have the same veto-rights as Casey had. He will likely impose dub ideas to the other writers like "this missions needs more Cerberus!" and stuff. I think despite of how bad ME3's ending was and was probably Casey's concept moreso than Mac's (who knows honestly?) I think Casey will still prove to have been the better director in time. But I'll quote him for now

"Wait and see."  - Casey Hudson

I dunno, his whole "it worked for these fans therefore it was the right choice, who cares what anyone else thinks." attitude doesn't inspire me with confidence.

It is interesting. Some of the interviews from the Final Hours stuff reveals that Casey Hudson does impose his own story writing ideas over the actual writers and that both of them seem to have quite a few misunderstandings about the actual game they're working on (for example, Walters seems to think ME is well animated and shot, while Hudson didn't want TIM to be a boss fight because it would be "too video gamey."). I haven't seen them dive into any of the specific writing parts except for the last talk with Anderson. Casey Hudson was the one who decided to shorten the conversation while Mac Walters was the one who wrote it to be longer and have the FemShep conversation be different beyond changing a few pronouns (the guy can write a touching dialogue scene).

Mac Walters as a creative director (whatever that means) doesn't inspire much confidence but he isn't paired with Casey Hudson... plus, there's isn't anymore Cerberus, hopefully. So maybe things can turn out well.
