Will you be turning friendly fire on?

Of the enemies are subject to FF, and theirs is similarly dangerous to them, then I will definitely have FF on.
But if enemies are immune to FF, or if HP asymmetry is such that enemy FF isn't tactically relevant, then I will play with FF off (and not enjoy the game as much).
For example, I liked FF in DAO because enemies were always subject to FF. I only liked it in DA2 at lower difficulties, given the HP asymmetry. In NWN amd NWN2, I played both with FF at release, but when enemy FF was removed from both (in patches), I stopped playing with FF (and I enjoyed them less).

Nah. I'm not into this game because of the combat gameplay. I much prefer the story aspects, so friendly fire is just going to get in the way of that for me.

I hated FF with melee at first, but got used to it. Loved Fenris much more than Avelin as melee fighter anyway, used him most of the time with all possible party combos- and he was fine - you just needed to pay attention and not program him to do abilities with FF without your direct command.
But I admit, it could be a problem for players who don't like to pause and/or switch to companions in the battle, of course.

On. Having it off is somewhat immersion-breaking for me.
It makes the game more fun anyway. In DA2, freezing people in place with Cone of Cold, backing away then casting Gravitic Ring and Firestorm while my allies held the rear in safety, is extremely satisfying.

HELL NO!
my idea of strategy is to draw all grunts to my Def Tank then unleash AOE armageddon! that would make michael bay weep with jealousy.

Probably not. It doesn't really break my immersion that much. I like playing moderately tactically, but I don't need FF for that. Nice that we have the option this time, though (independent of difficulty). I might try it later on if I feel like it though. I didn't mind it in DA:O, but no regenerating health makes it a lot harder.

Friendly Fire on. It's impossible to break it more, than it was already broken in DA2, so I'm assuming it's going to be better.
So definetely, Friendly Fire + Nightmare on my first playthrough, as I always do.

Probably not initially, but if I decide to do a Hard or Nighmare playthrough as a challenge, I'll think about it.

I never want friendly fire on, it's magic for holy hamster's sake. If I can't control my magic there's really no point to being a mage, otherwise I'm a walking flamethrower/liquid nitrogen sprayer. If I want science, I'll play Mass Effect (snicker, space magic, I know).

Not in my first playthrough. I want time to get used to the new fighting system. I might turn the Friendly Fire option on if I want a challenge in later runs.

Turning friendly on forces strategy, which I like. You can't just rub your hands and boom boom and giggle. Most people are more casual players
than they are strat nuts though and I was actually pretty surprised at the amount of people stating they will play on easy or normal (newage easy mode). Obviously I don't expect nightmare mode from everyone... hard, to me at least, is the real "normal" mode for most games and specialist difficulty settings (ironman mode in Enemy Unknown, nightmare mode/friendly fire in DA:I) are for seasoning to taste.
Saying that I don't think I'll use it simply because I don't think the game is designed around it (few are) and so it'll be more annoying than challenging. I'd also be more inclined to use it if it effected enemies as well.
