 How could a 40 year old qunari woman be the 12 year old male child of a Morrigan who didn't do the Dark Ritual nor had sex with a warden in an Origins state? Why would they create two entirely different identities for players depending on how they put in that information?

 

Morrigan's got sex magic, but if she had THAT intense of sex magic, there'd be basically no need to fight any evils ever because she'd just have sex and change the entire fabric of the universe.

Nope. Old God Baby not available for everyone. Not in the default world. We can be female. We can be Qunari. We can be any race that isn't human. Plus despite how much of a fantasy dragon age is no one has rhe power to change the passage of time in that way.

That's lazy writing. If they did that---and they won't--I would be mad. Maybe it fits some people's world states well enough without much tweaking, but that's a choice they said would matter, and what you're describing would make it completely irrelevant.

The Inquisitor is not Morrigan's child. An optional choice from a previous game would not produce a following game's main character.

Well they did do that "your background is a false memory" thing before in KOTOR..my problem isn't that it would be impossible, just that the leaps we'd have to take to get there would be ridiculous and invalidate the choices we made before

A human is confirmed to be a member of the Trevalyan noble family, and a mage human is from the Ostwick Circle

 

While the OGB is said to be male by Morrigan in witch hunt.

 

Lastly why would the OGB be at the peace conference, and not sticking with Morrigan?

The child is not always going to be entirely human. Half-dwarves I think have some dwarven features.

Cassandra can be heard in one of the latest gameplay videos (I forget which?) saying something about some of the Fade Rifts screwing with time in their local vicinity, but I doubt that it's enough to rapidly age the OGB to adulthood in that fashion?

 

This also wouldn't explain how the Inquisitor could be a Qunari, unless Sten somehow became a Grey Warden and did the Dark Ritual with Morrigan when we weren't looking?!

Bioware has confirmed the Inquisitor isn't the OGB, Morrigan states the OGB is a male in Witch Hunt, The Inquisitor can be female.Those two facts alone should be enough

I don't think that the Dark Ritual baby will ever be a main character. In the Witch Hunt DLC, Morrigan refers to the baby as "my son", which of course means that the character could only be a male, which would annoy people to no end. I don't see BioWare suddenly making a rule that you couldn't play as a girl because that would infuriate female gamers everywhere. I could see the Dark Ritual Baby being a companion, maybe, and people not realizing it until towards the end of the game.

 

How awesome would this be- Morrigan's son as a romance option, and if/when he ascends to Godhood or whatever, he makes the player his consort. I would totally be down for that.

It was the same with Hawke in DA2 - apparently no-one can resist the good old "protagonist is the OGB!!1!!!1!!" theory. Seriously, this **** is getting old faster than the proposed OGB himself.
