Blizzard announced a new IP named Overwatch today on Billzcon. It seems like a Team Fortress 2 type game with MOBA elements.
The Cinematic Trailer is great, an animation with Pixar-like feel.
They've released a Gameplay Trailer too.

lol @ the security guard playing Hearthstone
And I think I'll give this one a pass tbh
Disney Team Fortress 2!
Jk
Looking foward for this game.
Looks interesting.
Plus, you get to play as a gorilla and smash things.
I really like the emo kid in the Raynor's Raiders hoodie.
Meh.
I think Blizzard's strategy experience combined with competitive FPS could be a match made in heaven. Not a fan of the character art design, very much a fan of the FP elements and dynamic character movement.
I blame Chris Metzen.
I blame Chris Metzen.
Nah, this can't be his doing. The trailer didn't contain the word "prophecy." Chris Metzen loves prophecy.
Looks better than Bungie's Destiny. IMO, Blizzard > Bungie and, BioWare.
Personally, I no longer buy Blizzard products or play Blizzard games. Unfortunately, Blizzard has transitioned into an online-only and multiplayer-only business; and I remain steadfast in my refusal to ever play or participate in any online nor multiplayer game. However, I respect Blizzard. I respect and admire Blizzard more than any other video game developer, and that is including BioWare. Blizzard's commitment to quality is unparallelled in the video game industry: Blizzard is the only major developer that is committed to excellence in quality: Blizzard release games in stable, polished condition. That commitment to quality is such a rarity in the video game industry.
Most importantly, Blizzard is the only video game developer that is committed to continually patching and fixing their products until it is finally near perfection and near completely bug-free. i.e., More than a decade after Blizzard had released the original StarCraft and Diablo 2, Blizzard was still putting out patches to fix, balance and fine-tune those games. It was amazing. I seriously do not know of any other developers that do that. Tell me, what other developers are committed to do that? Certainly not BioWare. Unlike other developers, Blizzard certainly treats their games like fine arts, continually improving and perfecting their creations until they become, perfection. Blizzard certainly has the spirit of an artist and craftman in regards to how they handle their post-released games.
That is why, IMO, Blizzard > Bungie, BioWare, and most any other video game developer out there. BioWare can learn that excellence from Blizzard. Even though I no longer play Blizzard games, (because nowadays Blizzard only makes online multiplayer games, and I do not play online multiplayer games,) I respect Blizzard. Respect.

Femme Fatale betrayers too. I didn't see any of them. I think Warcraft II was the last game that didn't have a femme fatale betrayer.
This looks good to me! I enjoy Blizzard games alot. But Hearthstone and Heroes of The Storm haven't grabbed me too much as far as their new IP's go. It'll be cool to see more info in the coming months.

The characters are all so cheesy, but I suppose that's par for the course for these types of games. The gameplay looks pretty good. Might check out if FTP.
Blizzard sometimes goes all out with their cheese. SC2 sure was overloaded with it ![]()
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it. Blizzards never made a bad game imo. Some that are not worth gushing over or anything, but as a whole I've enjoyed just about every title they've made so far.

I blame Chris Metzen for that.
Reminds me of what Overstrike could've been. I'll keep an eye on it for now, but it's not something I think I'm looking forward to.
Not my kind of game, but this looks really good. If they make a movie out of it I'd watch it.
I'd rather have a good FPS set in the Starcraft universe.

Starcraft:Ghost will never come out. It is meant to be forgotten in the cesspit of development failure history.

Don't remind me. I think that was a TPS however.
It still is a great concept for a game I think. Of course the way Blizzard does story lately the plot would be horribly predictable.

Prophecy and betrayal. Is there any other type of plot?
It looked awesome, hoping to get into beta next year myself, could be a real timesink for me.
It's a different kind of cheese to Bioware's 'unite and stand against an ancient evil' one.
I doubt much went into the story. It's an arena style FPS. Not a tale about Merica saving the world from an evil Russian dictator.
