So a few weeks back when DAO was free through Origins, I got a copy and have since purchased awakening, a few other DLCs, and also DA2.  When I try to register on social.bioware.com using the product key showing up in the Origins app, it says "Code is not valid for game."

I spoke with an EA person and after being on hold for a long time, I was told this was due to Dragon Age moving away from social.bioware.com to it's own site.  But, having just purchased DA2 and having no issue registering it on social.bioware.com I don't think this is the case.  How much $ do I have to spend to get the dang toolset?  Had I been smart, I would've gotten the ultimate edition that has all the DLC in one which would've ended up being cheaper with less issues...

Normally, EA ought to give you a new product code when social.bioware.com doesn't like your product code.  Just for clarification, did you get your product key from your game card on Origin?  That is the correct product code key.

Can you check your user entitlements to see that the DLCs, etc. show up?

I got the product key from opening the Origins app->DAO->click the i button.  And yes, all my DLC entitlements show up for DAO, which is strange.  I don't see a product code listed for Awakening in the Origin app, and none of the emails I've received from them have it in there, just the order number.

Do you have DA: Awakening installed?  DA: Awakening should be downloadable from the Game Card of your DA: O (the same place you got your DA:O product code).  If you have it installed, you should be able to go to your Windows registry and extract the CD key.

Use the start menu, and run: regedit

Then browse the folders:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Electronic Arts > Electronic Arts > Dragon Age Origins Awakening > ergc

I think the CD key should be stored in ergc as a value.

Do not change anything on the registry.  Copy/browse until you get to the correct path.

Hi all, just curious why you need to register your game? Is there something you are only able to get if you register on the BSN? I just want to make sure we don't miss something because the BSN won't be around forever. If there is I will talk to the Keep team and make sure they have it in their feature backlog.

BSN won't be around forever?  What about N7HQ which currently resides in social.bioware.com?  What about all the DLC content?  It looks like from the opening post, he/she mentioned something about the DA toolset which probably would require a registration.

I also tried this, but got no result... But the real reason was just to show DA:O as a Registered Game I own, So it's no big deal for me.

I am also looking to get a copy of the toolset but as with the original poster, the site did not want to accept the product key Origin gave me when I went to register the game. I actually already own a copy of Origin for 360 - I primary downloaded the PC version so that I could play with the DA toolset. Any help would be much appreciated.

Because it is a requirement of downloading the toolset:  http://social.biowar...page/da-toolset  " You must have Dragon Age: Origins (PC) registered to download or use the Dragon Age Toolset"

Okay, probably should have given a bit more context. BSN won't be around forever but if content/features are still needed they would move to other sites.

For example, N7 HQ was built to be a standalone site so it wouldn't be a lot of work to move. Some of the DA features have already moved to the Keep.

For those of you looking for the toolset here are the direct downloads:
http://lvlt.bioware....et1.01Setup.exe (507MB)
http://files.bioware...clipseRay10.zip (6MB)

Awesome, that's all I wanted  :D  @niniendowarrior I did search the registry, but I only found one entry for Awakening and it didn't have anything that looked like a key :(  On the bright side, the Keep site detected my games without an issue!

Doesn't work well for me. I missed the giveaway and on my birthday no less. So my brother gets it and does not mentions it to me while i was

fixing my computer since the power supply blew out .

You think some people would have been nice enough to give some spare keys since there were more than likely people hoarding the free codes.

Most responses i got just after the free keys ended was "get a job" and "sorry this game isn't for poor people". Really? T_T

the game was free a few days ago at that time and i am being a hobo? Yet a few days later you see a **** ton of offers on steam for the key for origins.

Then i found out it was on the house before it again wen't back to not being free -_-.

So guess what i wan't for my birthday now. xD

The only way to get a key, is to buy it on a third party website. Otherwise when you get it on the house it's linked to your account.

Will you be able to register Origins on the new site?

I don't think it's necessary.  This site will pick up games already included in your Origin account automatically.
