Yup!  I'll be at Gamestop for the midnight release, but I'll go to Gamestop like at 6-pm to give my receipt so they can process my pre-order and they put a sticker number on your receipt #1, that means that I'll be in the group one, if I get a sticker #2 I'll be in the group two and so on. There making it easy this way so you can get your game quicker, get in & get out :)

That's a terrific plan. I think I'll call my Gamestop and see if they'll be doing something similar.

Probably, just so I can install the game so it's ready to boot up when I get off from work the next day.

But reading your list of games there, it seems like too many people. Maybe not worth it.

I did that once for the release of ME3, never again. The people there including the workers acted like they'd never seen a woman(alien?) before and were really patronizing. <_<

I'm not. I have to work on release day so I'll need some sleep.

No. One of the advantages of being PC masterrace is being able to purchase games without having to interact with the hoi polloi at a Gamestop.

You... you DO realize that the consoles have digital download as well these days, right?

At any rate, I still prefer a physical copy and I like the excitement of midnight releases, so I choose to put myself through it willingly. LOL

Ugh. Been there.

Getting asked "you getting the game for your boyfriend?" is beyond annoying.

A quick "No. You getting the game for your boyfriend?" **** kept the rest of the comments away though ;)

I am totally going to use that one! I'm going to use it in my most sincere and nicest voice I can.

I spoke to my local EB Games. It seems in Atlantic Canada (Newfoundland) we won't be having a midnight release. Also the guy said we may have to remove midnight releases all together as we are an hour and a half earlier than EST...and they want the release to sync up with midnight downloads at midnight EST (which is around 1:30am here)...so we may look at saying bye-bye to midnight releases :'(

I'll be there.

Nobody has ever given me a lick of trouble for being a chick at a midnight release. But it is Alaska so we're small potatoes compared to most places.

I had mine pre-ordered at Amazon because I didn't want to wait in the cold. Last time I got really sick. A friend told me they'd be happy to pick it up for me at midnight, so I switched my pre-order to GameStop.

I'm friends with the manager of my local Gamestop and most of her employees are girls too so no silly sexist comments so far for me. Plus all the guys that work there are cool also.

It's always excellent when you can go pick up a game and no one blinks an eye.

Never attempted this before, but I'm going to try this.  I have family coming for the holidays a bit early so i only have two days after release to play this and then I have to host for a week or so.  I'll be able to sneak in time to play at night, but that's it.  Not to be a stick in the mud, but dang, I wish this had come out at the October 7th date as it was intended originally.  Or even the 18th of last month.  The next holiday season around the corner too.

I'll probably have to make a phone call to confirm there is a midnight event for the specific Gamestop location I purchased from.  Hopefully luck will show me some love.

I have rarely had issues either. Maybe about three times in all of my gaming store history. Only once was someone snoddy about it and instead of blowing up at him, I started discussing games with him. By the time we left, he was asking me for my Xbox tag.

One of my close friends is African-American and he loves rpg's and tbh, he meets with more, "You're into these games?" than I do.

No one is safe from stereotypes.

Yeah that's a pretty ridiculous stereotype. That African Americans are not into fantasy but only shooters. How silly is it to determine someone's gaming interests based on circumstance of birth?
