Last time I played DAO (PS3) I remember never having enough gold. It would have taken at least three play throughs to checkout all the weapons and armors. Now I'm playing a modded DAO on PC. I haven't modded my game for increased gold, yet after saving Redcliff I made camp and sold some stuff to the dwarf and noticed that I had 279 gold. I wouldn't have minded if a patch loosened up the coin purse a bit, but 279 gold is too much! It must have something to do with one of my mods. My question is, what is the vanilla amount of gold one should have at level 7?

You sure you didn't sell any DLC equipment to get that much?

Thanks Riverdaleswhiteflash! I'm pretty sure I haven't. Must be one of my mods. I guess I'll just throw it away.

I like having money to spend... I played a few times the "vanilla way" and only used the money available to me in the game. Now I mod it up and use golden egg. Just because I want to buy stuff. Early in the vanilla game, I was always broke... by the time I had money (towards the end) I didn't need it as much.

Without exploits I had about 600 gold near the end of Origins. If you are patient, you can use the potent lyrium exploit to get infinite money. With that you can just about afford any item in the game.

Maybe I'll keep the gold and increase the difficulty. Buy a book or two...

Do you use Improved Atmosphere (I think that's what it's called)? I noticed a tremendous increase in my funds after using that mod as well, mostly because it gives you a lot more valuable armors. Like a set called "Cousland family armor" in the human noble origin which is worth several gold.

Not using that mod. I've only sold vanilla tier one and two stuff. The 279g seemed to just appear after I made camp. Quest rewards? I haven't really kept in eye on the quest rewards and the mod "The Wardens Women" does change some of the vanilla quests. I'll keep in eye on that.

Heh heh
. I've been poor and now I'm rich. Rich is better. Increased the difficulty, so it's still challenging.
