I chose the Scholar because I am naturally drawn to learned types over Warriors. Also it wasn't that hard to raise Derring Do.

I seem to be screwing up a bit at the moment though, lost all my freedom. Did the whole Sealed Chantry line though.

I'm currently scared shitless, so I'm trying the chantry on an alt account.

This game is incredibly fun and addicting, I'm already staring at the countdown until my next action is available - good Thing is I can do some work in the meantime and draw cards every 20 mins.  Atm that thing is alittle bugged though, I'm currently getting points when the timer's at 6:00 and not at 0:00

 

Hunting is really cool, I've tried it two times so far - failed the first time, managed do shoot the hind on the second try in the last hour of the day with a 26% Chance of success. Pretty great feeling.

My biggest Problem atm is a pretty high Rumours of Revolution and getting some Royals. My counsellor's the Dowage and I'm working on the pig-farmer as accomplice and the Outlaw as Bodyguard. I'll also try to make the bard my Lover once I can afford him.

@Will-o'-wisp: That thing when you get an action when the time says 6:00 is most likely because you changed tabs for some time. The time in-game still passes and gives you an action, but the timer gets stuck at the point you left it (or I think it goes slower, not sure atm) if you refresh the tab in which you are playing The Last Court it will display the correct timer, I hope this clears any doubts. And another thing, if Revolution is too high and you have troubles keeping it down. I'd recommend you get the Silent Hunter as a bodyguard since he opens an option that takes away a lot of points from the Rumors of Revolution attribute

Well for starters it could cause an earthquake and crack my stained glass window of Andraste in two. Then I'll have to replace the whole blasted thing.

That's definitely a bug. The Silent Hunter is awesome, but he's not *that* awesome. I'll try and fix it.

Does anybody know when the next Market Day starts? Is it a set time each day or does the 24 hour timer start from when you draw the Market Day card? Because I feel that more than 24 hours have passed but I haven't seen it pop-up yet.

So after one day (and a bit of dawn I'm ashamed to admit) I have ~24 Secrets/Viands/Trophies.  Is there any point to gathering more?  Or is 15 all you need for the best ending?

One short question: On my first hunt I found some elfroot and the description says I can consume it to regain health. How can I do this? Do I have to draw a specific Card in order to be able to?

Yeah.  I'd suggest high cunning and banking a lot of clues before going into the sealed chantry.  The clues aren't absolutely necessary, but they help you gather information before making a decision.

@Will-o'-wisp: No problem, glad to help you as for the elfroot I am not sure how to use it, this is quite different from the other Failbetter game I have played so in that I've got no idea maybe it's a card that can appear in subsequent hunts?

Partially depends on how those break down, as you spend 3, 6, or 9 at a time in order to gain favor with the Divine. Therefore, if you have 8 Trophies, 2 of them are wasted. As for best ending, I think it is theoretically possible to get the best ending (that I am aware of) with 21 items if you use them to their max efficiency. 30 is probably a good number to get if you want the best ending (add in some more to be safe if you broke into the Chantry).

Similarly, I think there was an rumor in Witch Hunt about the Warden taking three greased Nugs and a pirate to bed (Oh wait...)

Just past Market Day 6 and I have 5 secrets and 3 Viands. It's looking good so far. Finished my 20 turns though so I'll have to wait until this evening to try and gain more.

The game is pleasant. I like it (it's now on my Mac, iPad and phone so I dip in...).

 

It's designed for patient play. 

If I return to it after a few hours I have new cards - so all good.

 

I tend to play female protagonists so SofaJockey

became female Huntress 'Sophie Joquet' 

 

I lost the game after 2 days letting two of my attributes get to zero.

 

Tactically I'm making choices that gain attributes where offered rather than trading one attribute for another (with no net gain). It's possible that winning will be a slower process that way, but probably more reliable.

Word on the street is that you'll have to wait for the remaining market days to play out, I've also heard people saying that you'll need more than what it initially asks for.  People have been saying 15 of each, so that'll keep you busy. 

 

 

On a side note, that session expiring log out thing is getting frustrating, I almost swear it's doing it on purpose lol.    Finishing up my special mission for the day with the "Flames of Freedom", decide the fate for Ellusive Iconoclast and....yeah.  I'm sure it must have said something interesting, but I guess I'll never know.
