Clearing the cache didn't help in Firefox, but doing the same in Chrome unlocked the next Market Day.

I've been reading about people getting Cases in Market Days. Are these the special one-off cards? Because I only got a bunch of Clues from one, not Secrets, Viands or Trophies. Finding it pretty hard to get those. Given I only have 5 more Market Days and I only managed to snag a Bodyguard so far, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to finish this in just 7 days. 5 days now, I suppose.

Also, I have terrible luck with hunting. This is the third time I've failed in a hunt and lost a bunch of actions.

Cases are quests that show up as pinned cards after you select them in Market Days. There are three and if you have had your second market day then you have to have started one. I'm betting you started Errant Siblings as that one has a few breaks in it which could make it look like it is done when it isn't yet.

As for hunting, up your stats via clues then try again. With a 50 woods-wise it is basically auto success as long as you only select woods wise options.

I just got my second market day and I'm worried that the Flames of Freedom option will screw my game over because my Rumors of Revolution is kinda high at the moment sitting at 66, due to picking a lot of choices near the start that got me more dignity.

Does it have things to do with that stat?

Certain events in that quest line will increase rumors, but others will drop it significantly.

Just starting anew. Scholar, planning to get the Abbess as a lover, the Guildmistress as a councelor, the Hunter as a bodyguard and for accomplice, who would you guys recommend? The Dashing Outlaw or the Pig Lady? Are there any other choices later?

I went with Purveyor of Teas. Because Dwarves are badass. And he can poison my enemies. I think.

I chose the huntress. I'm not really liking this game so far. It seems that no matter what I choose, I loose good stats and gain bad ones and it doesn't matter how high my success percentage is, I still fail every time. 60%? Fail. 90%? Fail. So annoying.

What's his bonus? Being a scholar I thought it's best to have people who can complement your skills (at least for this playthrough). So that guy would be better in this sense, I guess.

I picked the Scholar.
I have the Arcebic Dowager as Counselor, the priest as lover, pig girl as Accomplice and Silent Hunter as Bodyguard.
I plan to replace pig girl with tea dwarf so that I get a bonus to cunning, scholarship bonus from priest is enough so dont need more from pig girl.

At the beginning, good stats hemorrhage pretty quickly, but it levels out later. If you survive to the first 1-2 market days, things start getting easier.

It's actually not that terrible to have high Peril/Rumors of Revolution (haven't gotten my Twilight up yet). High "bad" stats open up new opportunities, including opportunities that drain them quickly.

At the beginning, don't worry too much about the bad stats and just focus on keeping the good stats from going to 0 simultaneously. If one good stat goes to 0, you're still alive, you just have to avoid letting it happen to a second stat at the same time.

Later, the good stats become less of an issue (you'll see why), and you can focus on bringing down the bad stats.

I'm not going to bother, to be honest. The game is just a pain to play and doesn't keep my interest.

I ran into the same problem as some others with it not registering my market day correctly. It's been over 34 hours since my last one, but I'm still at 5 market days.

the market day bug is annoying. Stuck at 5 days and it won't give me another market day,

I remember the first Market Day taking longer than 24 hours as well. It's not a bad thing though, more opportunity to build up resources... ;)

Same! The market day before took a few hours more than a day to show up, but it's almost been two days now and this one hasn't changed.

Hmm, so I am at an impasse again, is the Petition from the Village Headsman interesting or rewarding? Same with the A plea for sanctuary card (the one htat is about a woman fleeing from a lord, no the one about Carver)

Which yielded...

The Seeker quest was similarly uninteresting.

At least you didn't pick the Safe Sanctuary card. I chose it, expecting to get a nice little quest to yield some Secrets...and instead I wasted a Market Day and got 20 Freedom. Yay. <_<

I had an event with the Lord of the Wood (or "Horned Knight") that I think might be buggy.

Hearing about these other quests makes me regret choosing the Elusive Iconoclast quest (which I failed, to add insult to injury)

I actually enjoyed the Elusive Iconoclast quest. It killed my Rumors, got me Secrets, and was quite interesting to boot. I liked all the different resolutions it could have.

Augh! I made the Bard my lover and I was really looking forward to reading the story-text that came after, but instead I got a pop up telling me my session had expired, and when I re-logged in I was back on the cards screen!

Does anybody remember the gist of the flavor-text? Or, since I know we have a Failbetter dev reading this forum, could you pleeeeeeease cut-and-paste the text for me? I feel seriously bummed that the game didn't let me read it.
