She is highly interesting. She's someone you meet if you go through the Sealed Chantry and succeed at all the checks.

What was the deal with the burnt letter found in the silver box at the very end? Was it just a throwaway line to show that "life goes on in Serault" or does it tie into DA:I or some DA lore I'm not familiar with?

I just finished, I'm not sure if I got the best ending. She cottoned on about me breaking into the Chantry which made me lose a bunch of my trophies etc (made them uneven to boot so some were wasted. My ending said...

Beginnings

"...Serault's Shame will be stricken from the record. Her honor is restored. In truth, I doubt it could ever truly be taken from her." That night you sleep a deep, just sleep, untroubled by dreams. You are woken by doves cooing at your window. The sun is rising. The sky is the colour of rose-gold. It takes the Divine's party most of the day to leave for the peace talks. Bleary Templars drill in the courtyard to clear their wine-fogged heads. Advisers haggle and intrigue, jockeying for a position at the head of the procession. Servants cram belongings into bags, pile the bags onto mules, and coax the mules - solemn and whickering - into the column. It is afternoon before the cavalcade passes through the town gate. You stand atop the Tower of Lights and watch them pour, slow as treacle, along the eastern road. The Divine will carry word of Serault's absolution to all of Orlais. A westerly wind stirs. A new wind, bearing an early hint of summer: soft honeysuckle, dry grass, boastful thunder.

Your counselor calls from below. "Your Grace? You are needed in the great hall. An emissary from Claose has been murdered on the road. He carried a silver box, sealed with lead. It had been forced open. Inside were the remains of a letter. Burnt." Duty calls. You turn to the stairs. Serault awaits you.

So I mean it sounds good...although I'm not sure what to make of that last bit?
Afterward it said I got "...a most satisfactory ending."

On a related site note though, did everyone else see what the Horned Knight tried to do?

When he tried to gift the Divine the possessed Priestess with flowers for eyes? Lol, I'm glad I checked with him beforehand, that would have ended badly. That was hilarious though.

It was fun to playthrough though, although I don't think I'll do it again.

To get the "most satisfactory ending" you'll need

30 secrets/viands/trophies to get the most satisfactory ending, and they have to be in sets of 3. I recommend going in with 50 or more if you have low cunning and unseal the Chantry. I went in with 52ish, and it dropped to about 35 I think when I asked for forgiveness.

I'm guessing the ending text is something to do with the civil war, the mage-Templar war, or something that will be uncovered in Inquisition.

If you do open the Chantry, if you take ... what's her face...(I honestly forget her name) to your dungeon, you can hand her over to the Divine and that will negate any negatives from going in.

Total victory achieved. I feel pretty good about my playthrough. It was a decent distraction for the week, so props to you guys Failbetter games.

In the Keep, on the upper left hand side, where you get the menu to pick DA Origins or DA2, there is a third option to pick DAI. Click DAI and that's where a tile should show up eventually, concerning your results in Last Court. I think they are waiting until we start the game officially, to prevent us getting spoilers from the Keep.

Ended with 100 freedom, 100 prosperity, and 100 dignity. The only reason my dignity wasn't 100 was because of the boons or whatever. I went in with 100 of everything.

 

I had forty combined secrets, trophies, ect and was able to get the best ending.

To anyone who has finished it: where is the choice it supposedly adds to the Keep?

 

I think it likely adds your character choice to the keep, and what ending you got. I'd like to see it add your choice of counselor, bodyguard, ect, and the state of peril, prosperity, and all the other things, and then see those effect the way your city looks and the characters you meet (who are hopefully named by then) when it's inevitably featured in a DLC.

 

Though that's unlikely to happen.

I went into the Feast with 100 Dignity, Freedom & Prosperity and 0 Peril, Twilight & Revolution - I was kinda hoping there would be some kind of recognition in the game for that... Ah well.

Yeah that screwed me over completely. Damn it Horned Knight I trusted you! Whatever, the Dashing Outlaw was pardoned so that will be... interesting and shame will probably be better for Serault in the long run.

How many secrets/viands/trophies did you have?

23 secrets, 15 Viands and  15 Trophies.

Although I lost I think it was 4 of each, when she discovered I broke into the Chantry and I had to apologise and beg for forgiveness.  

I ended up with 15 favours in the end

By the end I had 54 combined secrets/viands/trophies. I got 10 favours from the Divine, but even with over 70% chance of being able to lie to her about breaking into the chantry she found out. That took away 7 favors but I still had more than enough for the most satisfactory ending.

You awake, the moon blazing in your window. In a fever you reach for a pen and ink, and draw while the dream is fresh in your mind. In the morning you hand the Smiling Guildmistress of the Glassworkers a pile of sketches showing the glass in the Tower of Lights as you saw them in your dream. She blinks, surprised at their precision. "We'll start immediately," she says.

 

(You gain a trophy and 20 clues. You also get this marked in your records: 'You are sympathetic to the Shame'. I get the impression that might bite me in the ass, but it could also lead to something more interesting down the line.)

It is a beautiful Gothic game of secrets, dreams based on "The Waste Land", talking rats, cats, and bats (also space bats), the Zunless Zea, delicious friends, candles, and "The Starveling Cat! The Starveling Cat! Want to lose a hand? Give the beast a pat!"
 
Also the point regeneration rate is much faster than The Last Court.
